Extremely Rare Large-Scale Antique Tinplate. Pendent from a silk hanging loop, a wonderfully crafted decorative model. The elegant, shaped balloon has been constructed from six panels hand painted alternating green, red and gold. From this is suspended a wonderful circular gondola via a. Complex web of silk cords. The detail is marvellous. The edges of the gondola have been carefully rolled to. Avoid sharp edges and a fine mesh has been applied to the outside to simulate basket-weave. Inside are three charmingly two-dimensional figures carefully cut out of. With streaming scarves suggestive of a windy day. Their applied pointing and gesticulating arms, well convey. The excitement of the sightseeing passengers. Condition is good although the paint is certainly what one would call. This is often the case with tinplate of this age.
