Posted by admin On June 1, 2026

Purveyors of wonderful things. Welcome to the sale of this antique pair of anatomical paintings. These anatomical paintings are very early works by Percy Fredrick Horton. They were painted when he was a student at the Brighton Collage of Art in 1914. Percy Horton had an interesting life and is a well known artist of the early 20th century. Much can be found out about him on the internet. This pair of drawings represent two anatomical representations of the male musculature with the various muscle groups indexed. They were no doubt part of Horton’s studies that have been saved either by himself or a friend and later framed. It would appear that they have never been out of their frames. A really nice example of a known artists early work and a very interesting subject matter, as well as being very colourful and decorative in their own right. In good condition commensurate with its age and use. Please have a good look at the photographs as they form part of the description and contact me if you have any further questions. The paintings measure (in cm) 42 tall by 31 wide. There will be a surcharge for some addresses in Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight, the Isle of Man, the Scilly Isles and the Highlands and islands of Scotland. You are more than welcome to collect or I can deliver locally if needed. Please note my items are photographed under bright photographic lights. The colour may also look different when placed in a darker environment. I have many unique antique and vintage items, please take a look. RARE! Antique primitive 1700s Early 1800s Three Leg Wrought Iron Goffering iron

Rare to find Goffering Iron. Goffering / Tally irons were used in making and preparing the ruffles and fluting in clothing from centuries passed. The iron would be heated in a fire, wiped clean, and then held in the iron tube. These tools were used in the 1600’s and into the 1800’s. This rare three legged form with beaded body and finale design dates back to late 1700s to early 1800s. It would be a great addition to any collector of wrought iron or period piece items. It is in great condition with amazing metal patina. Complete with the iron. Sits firm, no wobbles. Will measure about 13″ x 12″ with iregular shape.

Rare ANTIQUE 2 Tine FORK KNIFE Set 12 Piece SIGNED Cutlery Lamson Goodnow S. The handles are made of a very pretty wood – not sure what type of wood and very nicely crafted. A very high quality lot of cutlery and very hard to find in an 12 piece collection such as this. There is generally a premium paid for sets of this number of pieces which are rarely found. The knives were marked or etched or carved with H K with the owner’s initials on one side only. This was probably done for ownership purposes. The carving could be covered with a dark stain to match the wood color or a light wax could be used as well if so desired. We always maintain the history and condition of antique items as we find them. Lamson & Goodnow was established in 1837 in Shelburne Falls Massachusetts. They still operate a factory outlet in Shelburne Falls. This is one of the oldest cutlery manufacturing corporations in the country, and the fame of its products is world-wide. Two-tined forks largely stopped being used as standard dinner forks by the. Late 17th to early 18th century. When they were replaced by three- and four-pronged designs. While popular in the 17th century for holding meat while carving, their inability to hold smaller food items led to their decline in favor of more practical, curved, multi-tine options. We have collected early cutlery over the past 30 – 40 years and are offering another similar set of 3 tine forks with matched knives cutlery, so please view our other item listings. These are hard to find in any condition and especially in a 12 piece lot with 2 tine forks. Beautiful old color and patina! A well preserved unique example of a hard to find late 18th to early 19th Century matched cutlery set.
