Original Rare Wemyss Ware Vase / Bowl c 1920s Jazzy / Moorland Pattern
This is a rare and beautiful original Wemyss bowl from the first pottery in Fife Scotland. After the first world war Wemeyss ware went out of fashion. The 1920s were known as the Jazz Age so the then head designer, Edwin Sandland introduced the Jazzy range in an attempt to regain business, it didn’t work and they went out of business in 1930 and moved the whole business down to Devon, this piece was made around 1920 before the move to Bovey Tracy in Devon. The fact that this range didn’t save the company gives it that rarity value. The bowl is 11 cm in diameter and 13 cm high. 4 Rare Antique 1920's Fenton Carnival Pink Glass 5 Open Swan Open Salt Dishes
Offering four, individual matching, iridescent pink carnival glass Fenton open dish swans. These original ones are very rare. Swans belonged to my great aunt and I was told she used them to hold mints on her dinner table during parties but in the old catalogs they are called, open salts or match holders. This set of four is from the 1920’s before Dugan bought the molds. I did my best in the photos to catch their true color but it was extremely difficult. I would call them Pink. Yet there is a shimmering iridescence that brings out other colors like gold and orange. Typical of Carnival Glass. The swans measure 5 1/4″ nose to tail and 2.5″ across the wings and are very detailed in the glass. They are not perfect. Along the top edge of one swan’s wing there are some tiny nicks. I have noted it in the photos. I also found a rough spot on the tail of one although you cannot see any chip in the glass. It might be a rough place left unpolished when it came out of the mold. I have also noted it in the photos. The bottom is collared but not marked. Thank you for stopping! This item is in the category “Pottery & Glass\Decorative Pottery & Glassware\Figurines”. The seller is “enter2k” and is located in this country: US. This item can be shipped worldwide.

RARE Royal Copenhagen Hans Christian Andersen Figurine Thomsen 1383 1stQ pre1923
Here is a Royal Copenhagen Hans Christian Andersen Figurine, Number 1383. It is a very rare and spectacular piece from the Art Nouveau period, with exquisite underglaze and overglaze painting. It is a large. (29cm tall) depiction of. The great Danish writer with flowers held behind him and his hat held before him, leaning forward with his head bowed in a pose of romantic appeal. While much of the figurine is decorated with underglaze painting, Andersen’s coat and the bouquet appear to be painted overglaze. This figurine is factory first quality, made and hand painted in Denmark before 1923. The figurine is in excellent condition. I cannot find any apparent damages — no cracks, chips or repairs. The delicate flowers in the bouquet appear to me to be intact. The square base of the figurine has slightly warped corners, so that two of the corners do not touch a flat surface. See photos, 7, 9 and 12 in particular. The figurine stands straight as it is but putting small felt pads on the base could be used to make the figurine more stable. I have done my best to carefully examine and photograph the figurine. This remains an antique, pre-owned figurine made by hand, not mass produced. There may be some small normal variations / irregularities in the painting / glaze / firing. Please examine all the photos, they are part of the description. The figurine measures approximately 11 1/2 inches tall. Please examine the photos and description carefully and reach out with any questions!
