MODERN ERCOL RARE CONSOLE TABLE. This is a very good modern Ercol Console table. The table is in excellent virtually showroom condition. The ercol colour code we think is light. The table is made of solid ash with two lined drawers. We date this table from tje late 20th century. The dimensions are as follows. We try to keep deliveries in house and avoid white van man cowboy couriers. We cover all of England and Wales apart from Cornwall and as far north as Glasgow and Edinburgh. In the few places that we don’t deliver, we can recommend a very good courier. In most cases, we deliver as a 2 man team, so assistance is very rarely required. It may also be possible for us to collect from other sellers and deliver at the same time, so keeping your cost down. If work commitments are a problem, we may be able to deliver from 6am if required. We also try to give a three hour time window so you dont have to stay in all day, any unforseen problems on the road, (so far we have never been late) you will be kept informed. Rare Antique African Yaka Mbwoolo Fetish Figure Congo Early to Mid 20th Century. This is an extremely rare African Yaka Mbwoolo Fetish Figure on wood stand that is painted black. It is possible that it is 19th century, but I cannot be sure. What makes this figure so rare is that the fiber and resin and colored earth are in very good condition. Most of the fetish figures that you find do not have the pouch(bonga-magic) with the power ingredients intact. These figures were used among the Yaka tribe of Zaire to support or contain special concoctions or powers. When charged with these ingredients, they become medicines-poisons that “make ill” through an invisible (supernatural) influence – or “make well” by removing this influence. Owned by specific lineages rather than individuals. The man or woman who becomes cured is entitled to become its ritual officer or nganga (‘doctor’). Mbwoolo figures are passed on from generation to generation. Provenance: Collection of Dr. Dennis Bettancourt, Los Angeles, CA. I will sell this item with these documents. Measurements with stand: 11 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 4 inches. Weight: 1 lb 6oz. Condition: Very good condition. Very rare to find a fetish figure with the fabric, fiber and paint resin practically intact.
