A rare and robust matching service from the prestigious Sheffield makers Walker & Hall. This set is professional “Hotel Quality, ” built using the superior “Warranted Hard & Silver Soldered” method, making it incredibly durable and heavy-gauge. The teapot features a fascinating hand-scribed “W D” mark on the base (positioned by the flag logo) indicating it was issued to the British War Department. This set likely saw service in a Military Officers’ Mess or a Government Department circa 1930. The coffee pot remains in its original factory state without the additional department mark. Teapot is a 2-Pint capacity, marked with date letter’m’ c. Coffee Pot is a 1½-Pint capacity (marked 1½ PTS), matching design and series number (53665A). Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition with a bright high-shine finish. They are watertight, solid, and ready for use or display. Features the classic Walker & Hall pennant flag and Sheffield stamps. A beautiful set of British heritage silver plate with a genuine historical connection.
