This is also a VERY EARLY lid…. It has FOUR alignment dots (North/South & East/West) on the face of the lid…. This many alignments is unusual. The lid is also marbled AND some of the clothing of the character’s in the scene, have been hand-painted before this lid was glazed and fired! It was difficult to “pick-up” the hand painted articles of clothing with the camera, but I tilted the lid to the side, to catch the sunlight which helped to identify the hand-painted items in the scene, except for one lady’s dress. 6 So the hand-painted items of clothing are, the Butler’s jacket; the gentleman with the blue coat; and the lady with the green dress on the other side of the table, which did not show in pic. The lid is large size, & measures 5 1/4 in diameter. The lid is domed. Because of it’s good condition and early production I have listed it at more on the lower end of valuation. Great collector’s piece for the more discerning collector of Prattware! FOR VIEWERS WHO MAY NOT BE FAMILIAR WITH THESE DELIGHTFUL LIDDED JARS…. THEY WERE USED BETWEEN APPROX. AFTER WWI THEY BECAME OBSOLETE AS MORE MODERN AND ECONOMICAL FORMS OF PACKAGING REPLACED THEM. Amazing example of an early 1840s china doll on wooden body. She measures about 7.75 tall. You will get the clothes that she came in, which I carefully removed with a seam ripper. They were not in good condition, so I did not feel badly about taking them off to inspect her body. Her clothing appears a little later than she is from, probably from the late 19 century. I have not seen any damage to her China. On the back of her shoulderplate near the bottom, it appears that part of it is not completely glazed and is a little rougher. I dont think this is damage, but in original flaw. This is the first of this kind of doll Ive had with a China head, and her arms at the top where they meet the shoulder feel a little loose. Perhaps this is the way they were made. It does appear like there is part of the wood missing from her left buttock area, although this is not super noticeable. RARE EARLY 20TH CENTURY ANTIQUE ART NOUVEAU’PEACOCK’ DESIGN, HAND. Early 20th century antique Art Nouveau hand-blown, decorated art glass. 9″ Height x 3 ½” Width x 1 Rim Diameter. A true period, authentic, original Art Nouveau piece of hand-blown, tooled art glass, with pontil mark (scar) on the base plate. It features plastic, very physical, variegated, raised surfaces, with flowing fern-like, organic forms, that at once resemble and remind one of flowing seaweed in the underwater currents of the sea or the leaves of ferns, softly moving in the breeze underneath a forest of tall, protective conifers. The vase has a natural, hand-blown, asymmetrical organic form, that impresses with its nearly frozen liquid state. This is an extraordinary piece of antique, period Art Nouveau glass that is not interrupted by hairline cracks, flea-bites, abrasions or scuffs on the edge of its fluted top or on its exterior sidewalls. It has magnificent, semi-transparent to semi-opaque, translucent surfaces, which showcase putty white, olive and creams set against a gorgeous semi-transparent, rich cobalt blue of the glass body of the vase. This is one killer piece of Art Nouveau period, antique glass. Not a more recent facsimile but the real deal. Found on the North Shore of Massachusetts and estate fresh. It was previously covered with dust and sediment and only very carefully cleaned with baby shampoo and tepid water and then gently dried with a soft cotton towel. Amazing figuration, color and surfaces make this a superlative, unforgettable piece of hand-blown period glass. Very Good to Excellent overall antique condition.
