Carte de Continent de L’Amerique Nord. (Thematic cartography- Metereorology & Hydrography) Issued Paris, c. Uncommon early-19th century antique map which displays the directions of winds and ocean currents. Engraved with beautiful full hand color. A scarce early thematic map which depicts the entire continent. Unusual in it’s primary emphasis upon meteorology and the patterns across the continent and Caribbean sea, but interestingly not the Pacific Ocean. Sheet remains well preserved, keeping in mind it is not modern or new, so minor flaws to paper unworthy of specific mention are sometimes to be expected. Clean, well-preserved example with a lovely visual appearance. Original fold lines as issued. 11 1/2″H x 13 3/4″W. Printed area measures c. 10″H x 13″W.
