Very Rare 1886 to Early 1900’s Antique K & R Simon Halbig German Bisque Doll. The Doll is priced to match dolls of this age and condition. Please make reasonable offer if you would like this rare gem of a doll. This rare doll is out of an estate, and has belonged to the same family since it was made. She is in very good condition considering her age. Her head has no chips, cracks. She has her original wooden body and it is in great condition. The Kämmer & Reinhardt doll company was formed in 1886. By the sculptor Ernst Kammer and the salesman Franz Reinhardt. In Waltershausen, Thüringia, Germany by Ernst Kämmer and Franz Reinhardt. Early K & R dolls were made of wax. K & R bisque doll heads and bodies were designed by them, but most heads were manufactured by Simon & Halbig which is why heads bear both marks. From 1886 to 1909 K & R made only dolly faced dolls with a bisque head on a composition ball jointed or kid body, many with an open mouth and teeth (like this doll). After 1909 they made many types of dolls; bisque, composition or celluloid heads and even cloth costume dolls with wired bodies dressed in various professions. K & R is probably best known for character baby and child dolls. Bisque head on a ball jointed composition. Swivel bisque head with the original cork pate. Working brown glass sleep eyes that still open and close. Her mouth is open with her teeth showing. Mohair Hair with Flowers in them. She is still wearing her original clothing; a beautiful pink long dress with black lace detailing, a white slip. The dress is made by hand and is in very good condition, just missing some buttons. The dress was made well over 100 years ago so there is a tiny bit of damage. This doll is a rare find and would be a perfect addition to a collection, or a perfect holiday gift. A very rare survivor. In good condition for age. No chips or cracks. Just a little loss of colour at the top of the hat and the toes. Antique 12 Rare All Bisque Kestner Character Baby Doll Early Mark 7

Rare sweet 12 all bisque Kestner character baby doll with glass eyes and marked only 7 on the lower bottom of solid dome head. Baby could be boy or girl baby. The bisque head is in nice condition, blue glass set eyes and an open closed mouth with painted tongue. The baby has a rub at the neck and has a small blemish to the right cheek. Kestner baby is dressed in antique cotton diaper, old slip and sweet antique cotton Baptismal gown and lace bonnet with ribbons. The all bisque body is so detailed with the blushed joints and fat bulges on her body, arms and legs. The bisque torso has no damage, the right arm has no damage, the left arm does have fingers chipped and her bent elbow was repaired, hard to see. Her right leg has no chips or cracks, her left leg has had her inner joint repaired with cork to string her. Both bisque feet have rubs to the bisque. She has some flaws but is so rare to have an 12 early all bisque Kestner baby with glass eyes! Please let me know if you need more photos. Antique Early 1900s German Bisque Doll by Schoenau & Hoffmeister on Candy Box. This is a wonderful and rare German candy container bisque doll in original clothing. She has lovely blond hair, an open mouth, and beautiful blue eyes. Thought to be dated between 1900 and 1905. Some of the paint on legs and hands has faded and the clothes have period appropriate wear and tear as well as some discoloring. She has a small stain near her chin and a couple of very light marks on her face that are barely visible. Little Miss Muffet sat on a tuffet, Eating her curds and whey; Along came a spider, who sat down beside her… And she convinced the dear spider to stay! Mary Ann only collected the very best dolls. Little Miss Muffet Has Learned to Share! – Here you have a darling rare, early 9 Kestner 169 child, with closed mouth, on a fully-jointed composition body with straight wrists. Her bisque head is marked only with a “C”, the mold number 169, “Made in Germany, ” and what may be another “C” on the left (though it is faint). She has a lovely face, with bright blue glass paperweight (stationary) eyes. Her body in excellent original condition, with her original and beautiful full blond wig. After extensive research, I found that this doll is extremely rare and almost impossible to find, especially in great condition like this one. And she’s from a fine, reputable collection. She comes dressed in a Little Miss Muffet outfit, with her tuffet seat, an oh-so-cute felted spider, 2 bowls of “curds and whey, ” and two spoons… Because, of course, she has learned to share! Beautiful antique condition — from a non-smoking environment. No issues noticed on the bisque after careful examination. That is her only identifying mark, aside from her plaster pate. According to experts in the field, Kestner made this head mold with just the large incised “C” for a Cassel doll company in Sonneberg, Germany. This little cabinet girl is 17 of pure charm, and I fell in love with her at first sight! She has a such an innocent expression of wonder, with delicate and artistically executed facial painting. She has her original sparkling blue eyes, antique plaster pate, and a very long & silky honey-blond (replaced) human hair wig. She has pierced ears with tiny coral-color earrings, and a lovely diminutive mouth with all original teeth. Her beautiful antique German body has its all-original patina, with wear only to the paint on her fingers. I believe the body is original to this doll. She is wearing a stunning and elaborate antique outfit, with lovely lace, ribbon, and floral embellishments. Her antique undergarments are precious, and she is wearing very pretty crocheted off-white lace socks with tan leather shoes. Unsigned Doll: We confidently attribute this doll to J. Kestner as one of their early works. But, as with any attribution, what you are getting is a professional opinion. Thank you for your understanding. Beautiful antique condition — from a non-smoking environment. She has one tiny kiln crack behind her right ear (final photo), but no other issues noticed with the bisque after careful examination. Also, no facial blemishes or cheek rubs. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE – for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of “hair” lashes on bisque heads (if they had them), not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors – for example: reset eyes in most cases! , repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues — hairline crack, total repaint, etc. – would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not.
