1714 Holy Bible printed in London by John Baskett. Very early complete Bible printed by John Baskett. Any John Baskett printing prior to 1715 is difficult to find. Beautiful original leather binding with gold gilt design on covers and spine. Very worn, but covers are holding well. Someone later added the blanks and marbled pastedowns in an attempt to match the originals. The title page is partially stuck to the new endpaper, not allowing you to open it all the way (see pictures). Some damage to the edges and bottoms of first pages (see pictures). Some pages protruding slightly with rough edges. This copy had gauffering on edges, but it’s a bit hard to see now. Mostly clean of markings and such. Some owner inscriptions at rear. Measures just under 7″ x 4.25″ and a little over 2 thick. The majority of books I list are 150+ years old.
