Found these in a Connecticut antique shop in 1985. They are very rare gold sailor earrings. They were listed that they were from London Connecticut. They are 18k/24k gold. They are soft and light. One earring has a small solder on the lower hoop. This was common as the gold could break easily. They say that sailor earrings were worn by sailors so if they died or washed up on shore the gold earrings would pay for their burial.

1911 A Rare early Antique Tube UNDERGROUND MAP & GUIDE OF LONDON. 1911 “THE UNDERGROUND MAP OF LONDON” The Underground Map of London – Map & Guide. Printed by Johnson Riddle & Co Ltd for London Underground Electric Railway Company. Folding paper map, 26.7cm x 20.2cm, Condition: Very good. Small tear on right side with professional repair. Alternate folding, probably once in a guide book. This colourful map is among the earliest’unified’ maps of the London Underground system and bears the first’UndergrounD’ logo. Specifically designed for tourists, the verso presents London’s sights and Theatres shown as colour-coded and numbered icons on the map. This edition is a considerable improvement on the 1908 design in terms of clarity – enabled by non-topographical smoothing and straightening of lines to an extent not seen again until HC Beck’s diagram of 1933. The early 1900s saw a rapid pace in the development of’deep-level tubes’ and by 1906, there were numerous Underground railway companies operating independently to one another to the determent of themselves and confused passengers. In 1907, the four main London Underground railway companies, unified by their dire financial situation, came together and agreed to promote their joint interests as a complete Underground railway system. In 1908, the first all-inclusive map design of the London Underground was approved and the companies agreed to operate under a single’UndergrounD brand. A Georgian silver desk stand, with two capped glass inkwells and a central pen holder with beaded decoration, raised on ball and claw feet, London 1778, maker William Plumber. Antique Victorian Silver Inkwell Superb. This outstanding Georgian solid silver inkwell will make an impressive addition to your desk, with its detailed pretty and delicate floral engravings throughout, a fantastic quality base which holds 2 glass inkwells in excellent condition as well as a prettily decorated candle holder. Would make a great addition to your desk or collection! Hallmarked to the underside of the stand for London 1778 by William Plummer. The three pierced silver bottle holders are each part hallmarked with the lion passant. The bottle caps and collars are unmarked. In excellent condition with light surface wear commensurate with age. There is no glass damage and the bottles would appear to be original and matching. A little clouding of the silver on the inkstand base. Approximate hallmarked silver weight is 6.2 troy ounces. Approximate total weight is 1.264 kilos. Approximate dimensions are 18 cm length, 13cm width and. This item displays beautifully but there is a obvious repair to on of the leg which looks as though it has been done a very long time ago. Iam sure this could be made tidier by a professional but I think it just adds to the charm of the piece and I have reflected this damage in the asking price. Both glass inkwells are 100 % original and in superb condition for their age. This lovely item can be used exactly as intended over 244 years ago. I really don’t want to sell this but my wife has pulled rank and I want it to go to someone who will display it and appreciate its beauty. This would make a beautiful present or indulgent treat. If you have a favourite pen like me it’s a perfect way to have it on display. Us serious collectors have spent a fortune on pens but who has a more characterful charming way to show them off. A maritime 9 draw telescope, this length and draw number is very very rare and sought after. See the pictures for details. It’s marked Heather, London.. Interestingly this period covers the Napoleonic Wars, in which Englands Navy was heavily involved. Also, from 1795 onwards, William Heather was the premier specialist chart publisher in London. I’m happy to be corrected on any information on this telescope, it has its lens cap and the sliding eyepiece lens cover works perfectly. Length closed is a little under seven inches, open just under forty one inches. This would make a brilliant addition to a collection as the number of draws is so very uncommon..
