Original, rare antique Chinese porcelain scholar’s jar/miniature vase from the 1916 Hongxian period. One side features an exquisitely hand-painted scene of a scholar leaning against a basket filled with flowers under a tree. The reverse displays an elegant multi-line calligraphic poem with a hand-painted artist’s seal signature. The base features a superb iron-red four-character hallmark reading “Ju Ren Tang Zhi” (Made for the Hall of Dwelling in Benevolence), a prestigious mark created for the palace residence of Yuan Shikai. It also retains an authentic, official red lacquer Chinese export verification seal. Condition: This beautiful pot is in great condition. It has only a tight firing crack from manufacturing at the bottom rim base as pictured. There is also some minor wear to the gilt trim on the upper lip, consistent with age.
