Offering this fabric-covered antique early small sewing pouch, wallet, or personal item from the 19th century. Antique textile collectible, possibly a personal sewing pouch or small wallet. Appears to be constructed from old, worn fabric, potentially velvet or burlap. The pouch features visible stitching and embroidery, indicating a name and was all stitched and handmade. Looks to be from the Civil War period. Pouch contains an open thimble and miniature tiny strawberry pin cushion. Probably belonged to a young girl. Please see pictures for details and measurements.

Rare Antique Eton Fives Wooden Rackets Early School Sports Pair Display/Study

Rare pair of early Eton Fives wooden rackets, traditionally used in the historic school sport associated with Eton College. These examples likely date from the early-mid 20th century and still retain their original natural gut stringing. Eton Fives equipment from this era is highly uncommon, as the sport was played at only a handful of English public schools and later evolved into a handball-style game without rackets. Early rackets like these were produced in very small numbers, making surviving examples sought after for collectors of school memorabilia and antique sporting equipment. Both rackets show age-related wear, flaking paint around the throat, and broken/deteriorated gut strings (see photos). Ideal as decorative pieces, museum-style display, or study items for those interested in English school sports history. See photos for measurements.

For sale here is a wonderful rare vintage pull down school chart of. This chart is by Franz Engleder and was printed and distributed by JF Schrieber around the late 1800s to early 1900s. Width:(including poles):106cm. (canvas 102cm x 74cm). This lovely lithograph was made by German botanist Franz Engleder who was commissioned to produce 60 school charts spanning zoology and botany. It features lovely illustrations of ants. Printed on paper it is backed with canvas and has black painted wooden poles top and bottom. This chart has spent most of its life rolled up in a school cupboard so the colours are still bright this is in part due to the painstaking lithographic technique of printing. This chart is not new, so please be sure to check all photos. There is wear in keeping with its age. This chart is in vintage condition obviously there are some signs of wear most notably on the edges, there is also some heavy wear near the top dowel in the form of tears to the paper which have been glued and reinforced with fabric tape. Striking looking arts and crafts period tale lamp of turned and flared form hand painted decoration and signed by C Beresford Hopkins of the Yardley school and former foulton ceramics artist. Good original untouched and uncleaned condition couple of minor redundant insect holes barely noticeable and retains its original silver plated fitting but will obviously require a re-wire prior to use. Please examine all the enlarged photos as they compliment the description thanks. Size including fitting is 14 1/2 inches high. Any questions please ask.

Without the frame : Height 7,8 cm 3.07 in. Width 6,7 cm 2.64 in. With the frame : Height 9,2 cm / 3.62 in. Width 8,2 cm / 3.23 in. No damage on the portrait. To be noted that the frame is original. But not the glass (dating later). Accident on the backside of the frame. (An “antique statement” of Work of Art of more than 100 years old is joined to the invoice).
