For sale is an Antique 18th century Dutch bulbous form decanters with double applied. Handles, wiggle work and etched. Decoration of birds and flora. Open Pontil mark at the base. It is rare to have the original stopper present. 11.5″H x 6″ dia. Old glass often includes an occasional bubble or two and may have uneven whirling patterns. These imperfections makes old glass has a beautiful and unique look compare to modern factory made ones. This rare early bottle is in good antique condition but far from perfect. Please note the losses to wiggle work as well as a few minor chips to the lip. There is no major cracks otherwise. Age appropriate wears (especially on the base) are to be expected. I have for sale a very rare antique 19th century large apothecary demijohn bottle. The bottle has a great amethyst color and painted TR. Overall, the demijohn is in good condition. There is a small chip at the lip that you can see an example of in the (3rd) photo above, and many more below. Also, I can’t get the stopper out of the bottle. I have provided over (5) dozen photos below to give you a very thorough view of this rare antique apothecary bottle. Blown Bottle w/ Open Pontil. Size: 12 1/2 Approx. Total Height 8 Approx. Hello and I appreciate your time. I pack well and attempt to pack just like it was coming to me. I will describe this item to the best of my ability and knowledge. This is Not a repro and Guaranteed Original and comes from a Long-Time Collection. This is a Very Early American Ink and might be from Keene Glass House in New Hampshire. Although, it is Very Unusual that it does Not have Ribs or Flutes near the base on side. It has a Larger Hobnails. It also has Smooth Shoulders. I would date it from about 1815 to about 1840. It stands about 1 3/4 inches tall and about 2 1/4 inches across at base. It stands about 2.5 inches tall. It is dark Black Glass and has a Beautiful Color through light. It has a partial open air bubble at opening to about onion skin depth. It has some tiny nicks on top disc edge, or it could be in-making. Not sure, but very small and mentioned for accuracy’s sake. It has some Honest base wear. No cracks and No repairs. It has Great Shine and is clean. You will be Pleased with this Top-Shelf Example!
