It is a beautiful example and a rare form of a Tinware Chocolate Pot. It has a great and rare form and it is in really good condition for its age and use. It has the wonderful side wooden handle and has no spout as is a shared feature for a lot of chocolate pots. It is a flat base and has some very old solder repairs on the top of the rim base – done very nicely and only mentioned for accuracy sake. I have not seen this form before and even in our research for listing this -I have not seen an exactly similar example. It stands approximately 4.5″ tall to the top of the finial and approx 7.25″-7.5″ long with handle included and the base measuring approx 3.75″ X 2 7/8 diameter base-excluding the wooden handle. It is free from holes and has some surface patina that you want to see on your antiques- some minor dentsoxidation and surface wear- some minor wear to wooden handle- the handle is a little loose as the wood may have shrunk over the years. Please see our other listings as we are listing quite a few tin accessories including lighting, coffeepots, etc. View my other auctions for additional fine period items. This will make a nice addition to your Antique Early Tinware or Decorative Accessories collection.. This item is in the category “Antiques\Primitives”.
