Antique Early 1800s French 18k Gold RARE Perpignan Garnet Marquise Ring Hallmark

Antique Early 1800s French 18k Gold Perpignan Garnet Marquise Ring Hallmarked. Bezel: 1.9 cm (length), 1.1 cm (width). Ring size: US8 (#56). This is a marquise ring of Perpignan garnet, France, circa 1880. The back is also tightly closed with 18k gold, showing the distinctive technique of connecting the center stone to the surrounding stones. Among the Perpignan garnets, the older ones from the 1800s have excellent color and are rarely available. The shank has a leaf design, which shows the beauty of antique garnets in harmony with nature. There are some stains from age, but there is no damage to the garnet and it is in very good condition. The eagle’s head engraving, which indicates 18k or higher gold in France, is also clearly visible. There is a slight depression in the closed setting area on the back, but this is common on older Perpignan garnet jewelry. Please check the sixth photo. Rare Ferro Toso & Ercole Barovier Glass Bulldog Red Gold Foil Label Murano 1930s

Extremely rare Ferro Toso Barovier glass bulldog, from the late 1930s. The color is red paste glass with gold leaf. The eyes are white latticmo with black pupils. It is in excellent vintage condition. There is a sharp pontil mark, on the dogs hind quarters. I believe the hot glass tail was was affixed over the top of the pontil mark, it in order to conceal it. This was originally done at the factory. The tail has not been broken or repaired. See the last few photographs. I have examined it with a jewelers loop. The dog measures approximately 4″ long 2-1/4″ wide by 3-3/8 tall. The piece still retains its original foil label. This very rare label reads GENUINE VENETIAN GLASS ITALY F&B Co. From this short lived entity. This is important piece, in a fantastic and very desirable color, designed by Ercole Barovier with the unusual label still in place. An absolute rare item. A stunning pulegoso glass and gold leaf pianta grassa designed by Napoleone Martinuzzi in the 1930’s and probably made during his years as artistic director at Venini. It is in immaculate condition. It has no acid etched signature at the bottom nor label, but prior to 1930’s Venini did not use to sign its work in acid and the label could have been lost.
