This is a beautiful Royal Dux Bohemia, one of the early porcelain pieces. The piece depicts potters with a large column, which is actually a candlestick. It’s an interesting piece due to its historical repair with staples, which was typical for the 19th century (porcelain cost a fortune back then), so I wouldn’t call it a flaw, but rather a feature of sorts. Even this isn’t detrimental and is virtually invisible from the front. Another imperfection is that the pot is missing from the back of the figurine on the pedestal. Apart from that, the porcelain and paint are in near-exhibit condition. Height: approximately 42 cm.

VERY RARE RARE AUTHENTIC EXAMPLE. In the 1700s and 1800s European silversmiths produced exquisite and rather exotic containers / VINAIGRETTES, designed to contain a sponge soaked in vinegar or aromatic oils. The function of these tiny personal accessories was to mask the odors of unclean houses, bodies, and clothing. When one considers that bathing was believed to be an unhealthy practice during this time, vinaigrette’s usefulness can be understood. A charming antique bronze figural wax seal handle, crafted as a rustic traveler standing atop a turned base. Early handcrafted examples like this – with expressive features, textured clothing, and a warmly aged patina – are increasingly hard to find. The figure carries a sack over his shoulder, rendered with lively character typical of European artisan work from the late 19th to early 20th century. The underside appears prepared for a seal matrix (not present), making it both decorative and collectible. A lovely collector’s piece with appealing age and intact details. Exceptional small bronzes of this type rarely stay available for long.

Exquisitely detailed antique bronze sculpture cigar cutter. The fox is absolutely wonderfully crafted. Probably pre the 1920s. Unsigned, however I believe it to be Austrian. Measures 9 1/2 long, including the tail. The fox alone is 6 nose to tail. Weighs 2 lbs 6oz. Please feel free to ask any questions.
There is a lot to be said about this doily. This was completely hand made including the netting and lace work. It is not without a few problems. They are small and not noticeable immediately to the average person. The color’s are magnificent. This is the true heirloom, Silk on Silk. There apparently was a thinning in material that became a small hole. It is next to the trim that goes around the outside, in corner. It is not large, but it is there. There are two very thin slight marks that aren’t as noticeable because of the tree and the branches but they’re there. Please zoom in on every picture and look at this very closely for the details that I can’t put in writing as well as you can look at them, there are other minor things wrong but you can see everything in pictures. As far as washing goes, I would not wash this. I would ask a Museum if you have any questions on laundering or repairing that little hole if you want to do that. It’s extraordinary just the way it is. Myself, I would put it under glass and pass it down in the family. I’m certain, in this condition, that’s what a family did. It measures approximately 17 1/2 x 6. It’s not very large, but it makes a huge statement. It would be wonderful for a collector, or anyone that truly loves antique linens. Thank you for looking and have a special day! It will need a signature over 18 years of age. Be kind to others, it will come back to you!
