BEAUTIFUL RARE EARLY VICTORIAN CARVED CHINESE FIGURAL PUZZLE BALL. This is an Extremely Rare Beautiful early Victorian Hand Carved Chinese Figural Puzzle Ball, this would have been crafted circa 1840 making over 180 years old, as you can see the detailing is breath taking, i will start at the bottom which has a wonderful carved stepped spread base with very pretty carved flowers and a carved petal edging, the pedestal stem has lovely carved detailing which takes you to this amazing opened pierced carved puzzle ball which appears to be at least 3 carved puzzle balls within each other, you then reach the top which appears to be a table top with the most beautiful carved detailing of three different scenes of chinese gentlemen sitting down poring and drinking tea, all within carved blossom and foliage, this is then finished with a beautiful flower to the centre, the quality of the craftsmanship is superb, it has the most wonderful tactile feel, you dont want to put it down, this would have belonged to a Gentleman or Lady in the Victorian period , in a time when things were so very different. 7.5 cm height… Lovely condition, as you would expect with some loss to the top edging as shown, which may have been there for many a year. FOLLOW US ON INSTAGRAM! Antique Navajo handmade silver necklace c. This is a most unusual piece and a fine addition to your collection of early Navajo jewelry. The necklace is made of bench beads in pearl and elongated shapes. It is decorated with 4 squash blossoms. Take a look at the close-up images to see the file marks on the beads and blossoms–this piece was made entirely by hand. The unusual pendant is a figural design with stamped decoration and turquoise eyes. The clasp is a commercial jewelry clasp of a style most commonly in use from the late 19C through the 30s; it was not totally unusual for Navajo jewelry of this early period to utilize commercial jewelry findings. A pair of very early French Empire c. 1810 figural bronze gas light sconces with rarely seen design aspect, a switch that is flipped up or down on the bottom of each fixture pushes a ball valve that would shut of the gas rather than a key or handle that required spinning.
