This is an early Horsman baby doll; if you’re a Horsman or early composition collector, this character seldom comes up in good condition. At 16, this early baby is the perfect playable size. In stunning condition, with no crazing, shiny composition. Tin sleepy eyes, and a HTF open mouth (meant to take a bottle). Ready to display and love! No broken fingers or toes. Antique Early Cuno & Otto Dressel Doll. She is an early Cuno & Otto Dressel. They were the first makers of papier mache dolls in the early 1800s. The eyebrows might have been retouched at some time. She has had a band new mohair wig as hers was beyond repair. Her face is in excellent condition no cracks to wax. Her body is leather and has been patched in leather in a couple of places but good solid mends. Good condition for age. Her clothes are all vintage from the dress and cape to her underwear with a vintage cameo added to brighten. A truly remarkable find? Very rare 23 Sophia Smith hairstyle China doll by Kestner. Dates from the early 1850s. She has an antique body and is wearing an antique coat dress, which is roughly from the same period within about 20 years. Please know that there is a repair to one side of her shoulderplate. Thankfully, this does not affect her beautiful face. Her dress is in remarkably good condition for the age. I love the fabric and the details. It lacks enclosures and needs to be pinned. Her body does not have any leakage. It is antique but not original to the head. Definitely appropriate and fits her well. 17 Rare Early LIMBACH Annoyed Character Face Doll Antique German Bisque-Head

17 Rare Early Cabinet Doll. With “Annoyed” Character Face. Original Antique Doll – Made in Germany. Bisque Head / Composition Body – Stands Approx. Marked (faintly): “Crown & Clover / L-1772 / Limbach”. Hard to Find and Displays Beautifully. This early Limbach cabinet character doll — with the distinctive eyebrows and “annoyed” facial expression — is quite rare. She is faintly impressed with the Limbach Porzellanfabrik markings: a crown, the three-leaf clover with “L” and “1772” in the leaves, and the name “Limbach” underneath it. There also appears to be a letter or number above the crown, but it is hard to make out. She has superb face painting, a lovely open mouth with teeth, and “annoyed” squinty eyes with frowning eyebrows. Her ears are not pierced. She has a very nice auburn French human-hair wig (marked “100% cheveux”) that further enhances her fiery demeanor. She is in her very old antique velvet dress, which has age issues noticeable on examination (melting, repairs — see below for details), but it just looks so perfect on her that I did not want to change it out. She also has a slip and pantaloons, as well as vintage shoes and socks. Note: Photo props not included: FRAMED PICTURE. Beautiful antique condition — from a non-smoking environment. No issues found with the bisque after careful examination. Her antique velvet dress is extremely fragile, with a bit of age fading, “melting, ” and repairs on the inside surface. These issues can be seen on close examination. See final two photos. IMPORTANT: Besides the noteworthy issues mentioned above, EXPECT any antique doll (bisque/composition/leather/china/wood) to ALSO have: (1) SIGNS OF AGE – for example: toned/crazed/chipped composition, minor wig pulls, loss of “hair” lashes on bisque heads, not-so-tight stringing, etc. (2) MINOR CONSERVATION WORK by previous owners/collectors – for example: reset eyes in most cases! , repairs to wig, repairs to clothing, touch-ups on composition/finish/paint, etc. Any MAJOR issues — hairline crack, total repaint, etc. – would be itemized above, but these normal age/conservation details are not. They are to be expected. I’LL BE GLAD TO ANSWER. Provided it’s rated the same (or faster) than the service you chose. Early Antique Rare Kaiser Face Composition Black Baby Doll KR Kammer Reinhardt

This is a very hard to find early composition doll using a Kaiser face bisque mold. Though unmarked, this baby was obviously a transitional doll when doll companies were switching from bisque to composition but still using their bisque face molds. He has a jointed cloth body and is wearing his original blue and white polka dot romper with blue buttons. This mold came in either black or white composition, but being black and transitional, is even harder to find. They came in either cloth or composition bodies. I have a white one with a composition body but it is not in as pristine condition as this beautiful baby. No damages to report, completely perfect. No repairs or touch ups, no leaking body. This and the black Dream Baby I have listed came from the original family from the same child. TEDDY BEAR NOT INCLUDED. This is an early antique 19 American Cloth Doll with an oil painted head. The seam on the head runs down both sides, down the back, and down the front of the head. The hair and facial features are very nicely painted. There is a split on the cloth up above the forehead. The body is cloth with mitten type hands. Painted areas show wear, but is all original.
