Very Rare 7.75 1840s Pink Tint China Doll On Articulated Wooden Body Early Bun

Amazing example of an early 1840s china doll on wooden body. She measures about 7.75 tall. You will get the clothes that she came in, which I carefully removed with a seam ripper. They were not in good condition, so I did not feel badly about taking them off to inspect her body. Her clothing appears a little later than she is from, probably from the late 19 century. I have not seen any damage to her China. On the back of her shoulderplate near the bottom, it appears that part of it is not completely glazed and is a little rougher. I dont think this is damage, but in original flaw. This is the first of this kind of doll Ive had with a China head, and her arms at the top where they meet the shoulder feel a little loose. Perhaps this is the way they were made. It does appear like there is part of the wood missing from her left buttock area, although this is not super noticeable. Tiny rare early long face antique Bebe Schmitt doll mariner costume perfect

Here is a beautiful and rare, early long-faced French Schmitt bebe in tiny cabinet size from early mid 1880’s. She is about 14 tall and is marked size 5 with shield on back of her head. She has perfect pressed bisque head with NO repairs, chips, cracks, hairlines, wig pulls or damage of any kind. She has dark blue paperweight eyes. Her painting is delicate and fair in color and she resembles an early EJ Jumeau but with more subtle painting. She has a dreamy expression and darling in this rare small size. Her body is fixed wrist wood and composition Schmitt body with flat butt. It is not marked but is definitely a Schmitt body. She has her original cork pate, blonde mohair wig, antique socks and shoes, and is wearing an antique will cream color mariner outfit that has a few moth holes. Of course there is a matching hat. This is a lovely doll for an advanced collector. No French doll collection should be without a bebe Schmitt! Wonderful and rare antique French doll, Jumeau Triste Doll, on early French Composition Ball Jointed Body with straight wrists, 24 tall. She is known as the long face Jumeau, as she has a wistful expression. She was only made from. 1893 to 1898, by the French sculptor Carrier-Belleuse, as commissioned by Jumeau to make this very special doll. She wears a wonderful silk lined, wine red velvet & lace dress, with a bebe bonnet. She has a full slip and pantaloons with lace. She has all her fingers, Closed mouth, Incised on the back of her head is “11”. This Jumeau Triste is one of the most stunning examples of this rare and much sought after antique French doll. She has one of the most beautiful faces of this model. Her bisque head shows no chips or cracks. There is a restoration inside front top of head that is not visible outside of the face. Early Antique Grodnertal Miniature Tuck Comb Peg Doll 3 Rare c. Superb charming little doll from our own personal collection. Rare Tuc Comb design in her hair and lovely all original painted face. A very early doll much sought after. Please note that at some time in its history some adhesive has been applied to the back of her dress to enable her to be seated. Fortunately it does not appear to have affected the doll much. Please see photos that show this including a photo showing the doll seated on a chair. Chair not included in the sale. Age related wear to clothes. The doll has obviously been seated in the same position for many years as it appears the wooden joints may now be frozen but as she is so small and delicate we have never tried to move the joints for fear of damaging them. For us she has always been displayed as she is seated. A very rare and much sought after early antique doll. Rare mysterious early china boy doll Meissen Dornheim

Antique vintage gold metal lace braid ribbon tape trim. Rare mysterious early china boy doll Meissen? For the knowing collector. This for sure very early rare boy is giving some enigma of it´s maker. Having the crossed swords inside it´s head what could attribute him to Dornheim, Koch & Fischer. Dornheim, Koch & Fischer was a small German doll head maker wellknown for it´s high quality and very rare. Meissen would be a little sensation. I leave it to the knowing collector to evaluate. The head is fine molded and painted. Blue expressive eyes with red line. Fine painted and molded moth giving the impression of a slight smiling. Unfortunately a piece of shoulder is brocken off, a tiny part is missing. A nearly not to see hairline crack on the neck runs up to the hairdo on the back. Early great leatherbody in great condition for age with fine fingers and wasp waist. Marks and holes where the head was attached shows that the head allways originally has been attached to this body. However this is a rare early china doll for the appreciative collector of early china dolls. Size Head: 4.1/2 – 11.5 cm. Size Body: 14 – 35 cm. Size Head + Body: 17-1/4 – 44 cm.
