RARE PAIR OF EARLY KAISER IDELL 6551 LAMPS. 1920’s ART DECO / BAUHAUS DESIGN CLASSIC. DESIGNED BY CHRISTIAN DELL, HEAD OF METALWORK AT THE BAUHAUS. THE DESIGN IS THE PERFECT BLEND BETWEEN FORM AND FUNCTION, TYPICAL OF THE PERIOD. THE LAMPS ARE EARLY POST WAR MODELS (STAMPED KAISER IDELL NOT THE EARLIER JDELL MARK) WITH THE SILVER INTERIOR TO THE SHADES (NOT THE LATER WHITE/CREAM). THE LAMPS ARE IN GREAT OVERALL CONDITION. THE PAINTWORK IS A MUTED, SATIN BLACK. THE INTERIORS OF THE SHADES HAVE AN AGED PATINA. ONE LAMP HAS A VENT HOLE IN THE SIDE OF THE SHADE (SEE PIC 10), WHICH IS OFTEN FOUND IN MANY OF THE EARLY LAMPS. THE SAME LAMP HAS A FELT-COVERED, PLASTIC BASE PLATE, AS THE ORIGINAL METAL ONE HAD RUSTED AND BROKEN APART (SEE PIC 12). IT IS ALSO EARTHED THROUGH ITS BASE (LITTLE BUMP ON THE SURFACE OF THE BASE WHICH IS THE END OF THE SCREW, SEE PIC 11). BOTH LAMPS WERE REWIRED SOME YEARS AGO TO UK STANDARDS. 1919 version of Fraureuth “EUROPA & THE BULL, ” Porcelain Figurine, modeled by Carl Nacke 1876-? Bottom has the FRAUREUTH hallmark with factory numbering. Figure measures 20″ long and stands 13″ tall. Base measures 17″ long and 13″ tall. Invisible repair of crack in the tail, excellent condition otherwise. (Hence, favorable price) Later versions have a gold armband, the allegorical tree removed from its belly, and a slightly different tilt to her head. Dates to right about 1931 to 1932, with a real early Deco silhouette that looks different from every angle. Supple and buttery black French felt with a velour finish, drapes around the face like a halo from the front, with drooping folding sides reminiscent of the late 1920s cloches. Black silk ribbon around the crown. Perfect as ti is, Lilly has added only a carved bright butterscotch bakelite leaf brooch/clip which can be moved to any position that suits the fancy. Early hats from Dache’ are extremely rare, most museums do not even have one. Sits on the back of the head and fits most lady’s heads, very comfy to wear. Label is Lilly Dache’, Paris New York, 485 Madison Avenue, NY. A simple shape that captures a moment in millinery fashion of the very early 1930s. This is to be fair to all interested buyers. Rare Early White Glass Original Art Deco Airplane Desk Lamp Patent Pending

This is an original Aviation Art Deco DC3 Airplane Lamp designed by Chicago Designer, Ray A. Schober, in the late 30’s. And made by Premium Products MFG. The DC3 maiden flight was Dec17,1935. It has chrome plated metal base, wings, propellers, elevator, and rudder. It has a frosted white glass fuselage with silver painted stripes and windows. The light switch as in the tail and the light and switch are working. This was a very early piece with U S PAT PENDING molded into the glass under the fuselage. The patent which was later issued will be 110196 and they also later began making this in cobalt blue glass. Measurements are approximately 12″ L x 13.25″ W x 8 H. The glass shade is 9.50 L. The reproduction is marked “Saspirilla Deco Designs” both molded in the glass and stamped in the metal under the base.
