This is a superb and rare to find Antique Danish. The heavy Silver case and face are in good condition with just a little age-related wear, but no dings or dents. The base could do with tightening a little to the clock as there’s a very small amount of movement, but access isn’t possible, however it is still stable. The clock movement is in working order and winds up as it should from the crown to the top. Pulling the crown up allows the hands to be moved manually to set the correct time. There is an inscription to the front with the name “Joyette” to the top and the date “21 April 1919″ to the bottom. To the top and reverse of the case are the Danish hallmarks for 1919 as well as the makers mark and name of A. The case measures approximately 15cm high and 9.5cm by 6cm at the base. Very rare and beautiful rosewood triangular folding side table by Illum Wikkelsø for CFC Silkeborg of Denmark, sometime in the 1950s. Ingenius and delicate construction, solid rosewood legs and edging, fabulous flamed veneer to the top, the best I’ve seen. Take a look on the net. These are very few and far between, I have counted two pairs and just three individual examples, none with a veneer as spectacular as this. In beautiful original condition, brass hinges and a neat sprung ball and peg’stop’ for the swing-out gate leg. Nice and firm, no wobbles, reassuringly smooth action. Alas the Silkeborg badge has dropped out of its recess at some point in the past. You will see that to the underside. I found a photograph so you know what to look for when you’re out and about! Early Examples of Kay Bojesen Rosewood Corkscrews for Universal Steel Company. The corkscrews are in beautiful condition. The wood is so nice and smooth. The only’blemish’ is some cuts on one of the ends to the “winged” one, as seen, but as you will also see – you barely notice that at all when it’s in use. The actual screw has patina, but that just adds to the charm. You can see some really nice ridges along the spiral of the “winged” example, which tell me it’s a lovely early example, where they paid attention to even that little detail. The other odd-shaped one is in great condition, no issues. Some light age to the screw, but nothing bad as you see in the photos. Wing-shaped: Length of wooden handle approx. 10,5 cm / 4.1 in. Height from top of handle to bottom of screw: 10,3 cm / 4.1 in. Odd shaped: Length (bottom of screw to top of wood) approx: 10 cm / 3.9 in. Length of wooden top: 9,8 cm / 3.9 in. Total: 52g+50g / 3.6 oz. I measure in centimeters and grams and then do conversions to US measurements, so the most accurate numbers are the metrics. A Rare Bowfronted Decorative Early Teak And Afromosia Sideboard. With a good colour and quality construction, this sideboard is very attractive and of reasonable size: 153 cms long by 50 cms deep by 76 cms high. It has damage to the veneers on the ends of some drawers as pictured, but this does not retract from the visual impact of the piece which has the inevitable marks and wear commensurate with age. An extremely rare (maybe one of a kind) 1960s E Gomme G Plan Armchair. I can only assume that this chair was designed by Ib Kofod Larsen as a concept / prototype chair. I do know that when Kofod Larsen starting designing furniture for G Plan a number of his pieces/designs were dismissed. The directors of G Plan at the time though some of his designs looked’too’ Danish for the more conservative British market. I very good reference to some of his designs / sketches of pieces that didn’t go into production can be found on the High Wycombe Archives database. I have decided to sell the chair in its completely original state, allowing the potential purchaser to restore or retain. The chair has a stained beech frame. Some age related marks and loose joints. No cracks or splits to the wood. The upholstery is tired with some clicks to upholstery. The chair is stamped EGomme GPlan to the underside.
