Extremely Rare & Early Green Art Glass Lamp c. 1910 Antique American vase
Posted by admin On June 17, 2018

Extremely Rare & Early QUEZAL Art Glass Lamp c. 1910 Antique American vase. Extremely Rare & Early QUEZAL Green Art Glass Lamp, circa 1910. We also feature a growing selction of high-end contemporary & early American furniture. FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is an extremely rare green & white Quezal iridized art glass lamp, c. The lamp features an early design & color, and the 12 glass insert is free of chips, cracks, or scratches. The vase/lamp base is unsigned, but unmistakenly made by Quezal. This is the only example of a lamp I have seen in green, although this décor often shows up in signed vases. As you can see, the lamp is not wired. All the other parts are present, but improving the mounts from the current ones would likely help the lamp. I believe this lamp was made earlier than most other lamps, before they started to use their standard mounts. The glass portion measure 12.25″ tall, and overall the lamp is 20″ from base to the top of the socket. Again, the vase is in pristine condition. This quote is for the Continental U. Rare Early Victorian Antique Copper Bath On Wheels Salvage Vintage French Bateau
Posted by admin On June 16, 2018
HERE WE HAVE A TRULY WONDERFUL AND RARE EARLY VICTORIAN COPPER BATEAU BATH FOR SALE. THIS IS AN EARLY VICTORIAN EXAMPLE AND COMES ON AN ORIGINAL SET OF WHEELS WHICH WOULD PROBABLY SUGGEST THAT IT WAS ORIGINALLY USED IN A HOSPITAL OR SOMEWHERE THAT REQUIRED IT TO BE MOVED ON OCCASION. THIS BATH WAS BOUGHT IN THE UNITED STATES BUT IS MORE THAN LIKELY TO HAVE ORIGINATED IN FRANCE IN OUR OPINION. THE BATH IS IN ORIGINAL ANTIQUE CONDITION WITH A “DOLPHIN” TAP TO THE REAR CORNER. THE BATH OOZES CHARM WITH AN AMAZING PATINA AND EARLY CONSTRUCTION METHODS SHOWING SUCH AS RIVETS ETC. THE TAP (AS YOU WILL SEE FROM THE PHOTOS) IS TRULY A THING OF BEAUTY AND THIS WOULD SUGGEST THAT THIS BATH IS UNDOUBTEDLY FROM A VERY HIGH LEVEL MANUFACTURERS AND WOULD HAVE BEEN A REAL ROLLS ROYCE PIECE IN ITS HEYDAY. WE HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO CHECK IF THE BATH IS WATERTIGHT BUT APART FROM THE DAMAGE NEAR THE TOP OF THE BATH ALL THE SEAMS LOOK TO BE INTACT AND IN GOOD ORDER. FROM OUR RESEARCH WE WOULD SUGGEST THAT THIS BATH DATES FROM THE 1830s APPROXIMATELY. MEASURES :145cm long x 63cm wide at widest point x 32 cm wide at front x 85cm high at back x 78 cm high at front. The trolley with wheels measures 8cm high at back x 11cm high at front. Please see our other ads for more vintage and retro items and antiques. ROCKAWAY ANTIQUE STEEL ROLLERSKATES Speed Skates Foot Cycle Rare Early 1900s
Posted by admin On June 14, 2018
Rockaway Foot Cycles / Antique Roller Skates by Rockaway Coaster Co. Unsure the date on the age of these, as they are extremely rare & hard to find any information about whatsoever. We found two magazines which mention the skates or the company. McClure’s Magazine Vol. 32’XXXII’ issued Nov. 1908 (advertisement shown in pictures). Toys & Novelties, Vol. 9 issued June, 1913. This magazine states that the Rockaway Coaster Co. No longer exists under that name & instead just go by’Rockaway’ which leads us to believe this pair of skates was produced before that date. These are the only pair of these skates you will find anywhere. The skates are still in great condition, of course there is age to the item, however nothing seems flawed. All 4 wheels spin freely, and the pieces seem put together very well. Very sturdy item, seems as if you could strap them on and take off skating. The last picture shows a small split in one of the spokes, though the wheel is still sturdy, and those pieces seem as if they’d be impossible to separate. The integrity of the wheel is not lost whatsoever. Steel frame, semi-steel wheels 4.5, roller bearings, adjustable front foot plate. 21″ x 3.75″ x 4.5 tall (each skate). Each skate weighs 3.5lbs. Rare Antique Early 1900’s Portrait Oil On Canvas Painting FORBES
Posted by admin On June 13, 2018
Portrait of a Lady In Wide Brimmed Hat Besides A Window. A rare study of a lady in white attire, floral wide brimmed hat and foliage to the left section of the painting. Overall a charming study. Inscribed with the artists name to the reverse of the canvas. The painting is housed in a good frame which compliments the painting well. About Stanhope Alexander Forbes. Forbes was born in Dublin, the son of Juliette de Guise Forbes, a French woman, and William Forbes, an English railway manager, who was later transferred to London. He had an older brother named William, who, like his father, was a railway manager; William worked for the London, Brighton, and South Coast Railway. He was married in the summer of 1889 to fellow painter Elizabeth Armstrong at Newlyn’s St Peter’s Church. Their first home was at the “Cliffs Castle” cottage, which overlooked the sea. They had a son named Alexander, nicknamed Alec. The couple had a home built for the family in Higher Faughan, Penzance. Elizabeth died in 1912. In 1915, Forbes remarried friend and previous student Maudie Palmer, who had been assistant, helper and friend to the whole Forbes family. During the First World War Forbes’ son Alec served under the Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry. Alec died on the battlefield in August, 1916. Forbes died in Newlyn on 2 March 1947 at the age of 89. He was buried in the churchyard of Sancreed Parish Church. Modern frame is in good condition as well. Framed: W: 55 cm (21 1/2″) x H: 67 cm (26 1/2″) approx.
