FOLLOW US ON INSTAGRAM! Antique Navajo handmade silver necklace c. This is a most unusual piece and a fine addition to your collection of early Navajo jewelry. The necklace is made of bench beads in pearl and elongated shapes. It is decorated with 4 squash blossoms. Take a look at the close-up images to see the file marks on the beads and blossoms–this piece was made entirely by hand. The unusual pendant is a figural design with stamped decoration and turquoise eyes. The clasp is a commercial jewelry clasp of a style most commonly in use from the late 19C through the 30s; it was not totally unusual for Navajo jewelry of this early period to utilize commercial jewelry findings. An outstanding antique example. Please view our other listings. Wearable length is about 2. Pendant is 2 by 1 1/4. Weight is 39.6g. This has a dark old patina that my mother left in place; Ill leave any cleaning up to the new owner. Larger items may be more.
