Rare Antique Nymphenburg Porcelain Goat Figure Figurine Porzellan Ziege Figur
Rare Antique Nymphenburg Porcelain Goat Figure Figurine Porzellan Ziege Figur. This product data sheet is originally written in English. A rare figurine of a goat made by Nymphenburg during the early to mid 20th century. Not sure what kind of goat it is as I cannot find another and it’s not even in my books which is unusual. The figure is superbly modeled with lots of detail and is hand painted to perfection as one expects from this maker. I think Nymphenburg makes the best animal figurines in the porcelain world. The piece is about 3.625 inches tall, 2.75 inches deep and 5 inches long. The piece is marked with the impressed shield mark underneath with the impressed numbers 618 over 8. The piece is in perfect condition with a couple of tiny black firing spots sometimes seen on their animal figures. Ziegenfigur German Germany 20thC. Rare Antique (1920s) English Adams Pottery Lidded Ironstone Tureen (10.5/27cm, 1.2kg). Please browse all 12 photographs for size, weight and condition as they are self explanatory. Absolutely marvellous tureen in perfect condition. Superbly 24ct gold gilded and in excellent condition without any chips, cracks or crazing. Very rare to find such an item close to 100 years old in this condition. Needs to be seen and handled close up to be fully appreciated. The Adams family had potteries in Staffordshire , England, as early as 1650. At that date two brothers, William and Thomas had separate ventures in Burslem, Stoke on Trent, England. Such family activity continued for many years. William Adams and Company, with large potteries in Tunstall was managed by members who were the 11th and 12th generations in direct descent from the original 17th century Adams of Burslem. Whilst there is no longer an Adams pottery, some of their designs are still produced with their backstamp under the Wedgwood Group name. Adams joined the Wedgwood Group in 1966. The present Adams family trace their descent in a continuous and unbroken line from William de Adams of Burslem, born 1365, who died in 1417. The earliest record of an Adams producing pottery lies in the report of 1448 of William and Richard Adams (grandsons of the above) being fined for digging clay (obviously for the making of ceramic wares) by the roadside in Burslem. These two members of the family were both described in the Tunstall Court Rolls as Master-Potters and are the first to be described as such. Since William and Richard there have been seventeen generations of the Adams family, every one of which, with the exception of three generations in the sixteenth century, is known to have carried on the ancient and honourable craft. No family can show a comparable record to this date. This item is in the category “Pottery, Ceramics & Glass\Decorative Pottery, Ceramics & Glass\Figurines”. Charles Mielatz Rare Early Florida Etching The Squall, Lake Okeechobee 1915
Rare Early Florida Etching by Charles Mielatz – The Squall, Lake Okeechobee 1915. “The Squall, Lake Okeechobee, Florida” 1915. Etching on cream wove stock. Signed in pencil under the image : Mielatz Imp. Signed and dated in the plate, lower right. Annotated in pencil, by the artist at the lower edge with the title and edition information. (edition of 25 – all states / 5th State – 2nd Impression). A very fine etching by this famous master etcher depicting a storm on the Florida lake near the Everglades. Very dramatic and realistic in feeling, with an impressionist technique. Etchings by this artist usually depict New York, Midwestern and New England scenes and Southern images are rare. This early view of Florida was printed by Mielatz in a total edition of only 25. PLATE SIZE – 5″ x 7″. SHEET SIZE – 7 3/4″ x 9 7/8″. Darkening to the upper corners, well away from the image. Ready to mat and frame. Charles Frederick William Mielatz was born in Bredding, Germany in 1864. He immigrated to the United States as a young boy and studied at the Chicago School of Design. Mostly self-taught, his first prints were large New England landscapes reminiscent of the painter-etcher school of American Art. Around 1890 he started to produce prints of New York City and by the time of his death, the number totaled over ninety images. He was a master technician in the field of etching, reworking many of his plates to get the exact feeling he was seeking. It was not unusual for him to have three or more states to a print in an edition run. On some he would simply reduce the plate size, on others, he would remove entire sections of the image to redraw it. He was one of the early pioneers of multi-plate color etchings in this country. Mary Cassatt’s color etchings may have influenced him. Charles Mielatz was a member of the New York Etching Club and elected an Associate Member of the National Academy in 1906. He succeeded James David Smillie as the etching teacher at the National Academy, a position he held for 15 years. He died in New York City on June 2, 1919. This piece will be a museum quality addition to any collection of American Art and will display beautifully in any decor: Arts and Crafts, Art Deco, Americana, Southern – Florida, Eames Era, Shabby Chic, or Contemporary. I always respond quickly! This object comes from a smoke-free, pet-free environment. Thank you for looking! This item is in the category “Art\Art Prints”. Rare Nymphenburg Porcelain Terletzki Scherf Bird Figure Figurine Porzellan Figur
A superb and rare figurine made by Nymphenburg in the 20th century. I cannot find another example but looking around I would say it is some sort of cactus wren on a flowering and thorny bush of some sort. He is singing to find a lady friend : which makes sense since they are supposed to have one of the most beautiful songs out there. Native to Arizona and that part of the US. The figure is nicely modeled with lots of detail and perfectly hand painted to look amazing. A good size piece being 9.5 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 3.25 inches deep. The figurine is in perfect condition which is surprising with all those leaves and flowers. It is marked with the impressed shield mark to the top of the base as well as the artist initials LTS for Luise Terletzki Scherf, another impressed shield to the underside as well as the numbers 2033 over 0 and the green shield mark under a crown with Nymphenburg underneath it as shown.
