Rare early leaver wind cylinder music box

A fine early lever wind cylinder music box by Louis Jacques &son (circa 1860) who was based in Brassus in Switzerland, and exhibited in the Great Exhibition of 1851. The case of this fine instrument measures 20 1/2 x 6 3/4 x 5 1/2 and looks much the same as a key wind case in appearance, but has intricate inlay and stringing to the lid on which there is one small blemish (see photo). The eight very melodious airs are played superbly on the 13″ cylinder which has been re-pinned and the comb has had dampers replaced as necessary then “set up by one of the UK, s top restorers. Antique early Gunthermann duck toy clockwork wind up German rare collectible Mechanism: wind up manual, not working. Dimensions: 185 mm (L) x 110 mm (H) x 90 mm (W). The toy is in good condition for its age, it is over 100 years old. The mechanism is not working. It has been repaired during time, as you can see from the pictures, the two main pieces of the body are glued with pewter. The left wheel is dented. The body has a dent under neck on the left side (picture 5) and a crack on the right side (picture 6). It is an antique toy, children played with it, as you can see the paint is missing on some areas and it is faded. It was made in Germany, by the company Gunthermann. It is not as famous as Lehmann, but its toys are harder to find. It is a rare toy, for collectors. If you have any reservations please contact me for clarification. Antique Early 1930S SCHUCO DONALD DUCK Tin Wind Up Hand Painted Toy VERY RARE

Very rare Schuco Donald Duck Figure. Early pre-WW2 Schuco production. Featuring a Donald Duck style duck figure. Made of tin hand painted in beige, green and orange to beak. He is wearing a felt jacket and carries a cane and a backpack. Also a piece of felt as tail. He is about 5 3/4 inches tall. Wind up mechanism makes him waddle, open and close his beak, and produce a squeaking sound thanks to a bellow inside his beak. This type of early Schuco ducks are very rare, but this combination of green paint with green jacket and walking stick is super rare. Original paint with no touchups. Felt clothes are in very good condition with no damage. Clockwork mechanism works and he squeaks no problem. He is missing a small round hat. Antique Early & Rare Lecoultre & Brechet Key Wind Music Box C. 1848 (Watch Video)

Here we have an early and rare Lecoultre & Brechet 6 air musical box. This box was crafted in Switzerland in 1848 and is an excellent example of a mid 19th century musical box. Like all of the early high quality boxes, the mechanism is mounted on a solid brass bedplate. The mainspring is in good order and powers the 6 air movement with ease. The Geneva stop-work is present (both male and female) and is working correctly making it impossible for over-winding to take place. The cylinder pins are in excellent shape. The comb has all of its teeth and tooth tips, although there have been a few tooth repairs carried out at some point at the treble end. This has been professionally done however and the comb is still very much in tune. The box still has its original tune sheet after 171 years and is in very good condition. The box comes complete with its original winding key. The start/stop and change/repeat controls work as they should, as does the instant stop third lever. The case is in very good condition inside and out and has that warmth and charm that only these early keywind boxes seem to possess. There is slight warping to the lid and I think the end flap may have been replaced at some point, but it has been expertly done and is an excellent match. The case measures 15 1/2 inches wide by 6 inches deep by 5 inches high. Please see below to watch a video of the music box playing and remember, Musical boxes always sound far richer in person.
