RARE ANTIQUE FIND 9ct Gold circa 1900 Lucky Kidney Bean charm 1 gram 1.84cm tall 9.3mm wide. Antique 9ct lucky bean charm. This puffed hollow form pendant is kidney bean shaped. This design has long been popular with beans dating from the Victorian era through to modern time. This particular example is dated to the turn of the 20th century. I have polished it to a high shine but not so deep as to disturb the gorgeous patina. Circa 1900, to the rear we can observe the’9ct’ purity stamp and the maker’s mark’R&S’. This lucky bean was converted previously from cufflinks and solder marks are present to the rear along the bail as photographed. Professionally tested and assessed as 9 carat gold. The gold is pale-rosey in colour, as Victorian gold typically is. Measures 1.84cm long x 9.3mm wide and 5mm deep. Weight is 1 gram. Lovely Queen Anne style with japanned (Asian-lacquered) scrolled handle. Richardson” and “B on bottom. Size: 9.5″ tall x 9.5″ wide (handle to spout, side profile) x 5 wide (at center profile). Condition: Overall solid with working lid and unblemished japanned handle; 2 small dings to the right of the spout and 1 linear ding to the left of the spout under the middle seam (all shown in last 2 close-up photos). Some surface pitting to spout.

A very Rare Original Wade figurine of a Panther on a rock by Faust Lang, made in 1939. Fully backstamped underneath wade 1939 and impressed Faust Lang on the back, measurement: 230 mm / 9 inches tall, 153 mm / 6 inches length. This figurine has been professionally repaired on his neck which is not noticeable when on display and has crazing due to age. This figure is never seen anymore and is one of the most sort after faust lang figurines. A wade collectors dream. Thank you for looking.

Stunning and very rare Sicilian Marionette dating to the early 19th century. This particular example is the largest I’ve ever owned, standing at 47 inches tall (119cm) & weighing the same as a small child. Very solid in structure throughout, made from a timber skeleton, which is connected with metal rods and finished with stuffing, such as horse hair, and finally covered in material. There would of been more clothing, and potentially a suit of armour. The hands, feet and head are all beautifully hand carved, the eyes on this particular example also move up and down. Wear commensurate with age, crack on the head as picture shows, which is still solid and intact. They became popular in Sicily late in the Middle Ages, during the fifteenth century, and marionettes are still considered an important part of Sicilian folk culture. Sicilian puppet theatre (opera dei pupi) or, more properly, “marionette theatre, ” developed into its present form in the eighteenth century. Strictly speaking, “puppets” fit over the hand, while marionettes are figures controlled by strings, but in common parlance the terms are often used interchangeably; what we’re describing are actually marionettes. Typically, the marionettes and their theatre depict medieval characters and legendary events based loosely on history. 47 / 119cm Tall. 15 / 38cm wide at shoulders.
