RARE antique Wedgwood creamware soup tureen from the early 19th century (the mark in the back indicates a date before 1860). Wonderful condition, with no major chips, no cracks, and no repairs (see photos and details below). Large soup tureen/ lidded dish in a beautiful rust, black and gold pattern. Comfortably holds 3 qt of a gallon of water (4 qt when filled up to the brink). Truly beautiful piece for an antique collection! I also have antique Wedgwood soup tureen and gravy dish in the same exact pattern, so please check out my other listings! CONDITION: excellent for the age, with no major chips, no cracks and no repairs. A few small old chips on the bottom edge of the base (see close-up photo). Fine crazing throughout (not noticeable) and mild antique staining (not really noticeable either). Only small amount of gilt wear except for a heavy wear of the gold on the handles; the rest of design basically looks perfect (see photos). Nice and clean, free of dust, marks and sticker residues. Remarkable condition for an item that is around 200 years old! Size: 12.75″ long x 10.4″ wide x 8 tall. Weight: 4 lb 12 oz.
