Antique French Oil on Copper Miniature Figural Scene Early 1800s Framed Rare Art. Antique Early 19th Century Oil on Copper Miniature Painting “La Conviction”. Charming and finely painted small scene titled on the reverse “La Conviction”, executed in oil on copper in the early 19th century. A delicate and expressive composition, characteristic of the Louis XVI – Directoire style. The artwork remains in good overall condition, with a very small loss to the dress decoration, barely visible and stabilized. The piece is housed in its original light wood frame, with an old annotation on the back that is still to be deciphered. A refined and collectible miniature with strong decorative appeal. Period: Early 19th century. Style: Louis XVI – Directoire. Material: Oil on copper, wooden frame. Frame size: 14 x 14 cm approx. 5.51 x 5.51 in. Painting diameter: 8 cm approx. Good antique condition with minor age-related wear. A very small loss in the painted decoration, barely visible and stable. Well preserved and ready for display. Rare early antique Mason’s Chinoiserie Imari jug pitcher from around 1840 features a stunning red garden scene, typical of the art pottery production style of that time. Made in England, this ceramic piece is a vintage collectible with a matte finish and printed backstamp. Handmade with care instructions to hand wash only, this original piece exudes the craftsmanship of the early 19th century. RARE EARLY to MID 18th. CENTURY LARGE HAND PAINTED. DELFT WALL PLAQUE of a RURAL SCENE. This is a wonderful early to mid 18th. Century hand painted blue and white Delft tin glazed plaque of Dutch origin. In a square form with decorative cantered corners it depicts a lovely hand painted stylised image of a rural scene on the edge of a town environment with a group of three beneath a tree with agricultural implements in the foreground. It is contained inside a raised decorative border with a suspension point above, while the reverse has a light blue glaze and an under-glaze hand painted’P’ – see photographs and details. It measures 10 3/4 (27.25cm) Sq. Approx; and is in very good condition for a piece of tin glazed faience of its age however, there are two shallow very, very (they may even have been present when it was made) old sliver chips to the reverse bottom right hand edge and some small frits to its face side, to report – see photographs and details. This is a lovely, unusual Delft hand painted Wall Plaque with an interesting subject, which with a low start price should get a good deal of interest from all collectors. THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS SALE. Almost everything I sell is in the condition I have bought it, unless otherwise stated, (I have learnt to my cost in the past not to tamper with an item), and therefore I have neither had items repaired nor restored. I will endeavour to report on an item which has had either; however I take no responsibility if an item has been tampered with and I cannot detect it. Please don’t waste your time asking for a b. Perfect Christmas present or gift for a serious collector. Lovely antique French blue glass scent bottle with ormolu decoration, adorned with painted plaque. I believe would have been bought as a Grand Tour souvenir. Stunning quality item in excellent condition. 10.7 cm tall. IN VERY NICE CONDITION DESPITE ITS 142YEARS OF AGE & USE SHOWING very MINOR WEAR, BOTH The bottle and stopper ARE IN PERFECT UNDAMAGED CONDITION. PERFECT FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR. This would make a stunning present gift. THERE ARE SOME very LIGHT SCRATCHES TO THE GLASS BUT NO CRACKS or chips. THE “FLIP TOP” MECHANISM IS IN FULL WORKING ORDER AS IS THE PERFECT RARE GLASS STOPPER. The polished Pontil mark at the base is a great way to tell it’s early age. I have approximately 300 antique perfume bottles which I have taken many years collecting. (see a few in picture 11). I have also included a picture of part of my 750 strong collection of Sampson Mordan in picture 12. Obviously these are not included in the price of this item, just for reference. If you want spotless then the high street is for you, but if you want a great antique that will appreciate in price with age then this is for you. You don’t get this by messing people about.
