EVERY ITEM IS GUARANTEED TO BE THE ONE SHOWN IN MY IMAGES. I sell mostly antiques and collectibles, which will usually have the normal wear that you would expect to occur from normal use and age. I will mention anything I find objectionable in the condition report above. I SELL ONLY GENUINE ORIGINAL ITEMS. I do my very best to accurately represent each and every item I sell. I do not sell fakes or reproductions of any kind, unless they are clearly described as such. I guarantee every item I sell to be authentic, and to be made in the time period as represented. I welcome input from dealers and collectors in specialized areas, to help insure my listings are complete and accurate. If the listing ends over the weekend, you will normally receive an invoice on Monday. You will need to save the box and packing materials to show the shipper. This is the proof that they require, so if you discard the packing materials, your claim may be denied. We feature a growing selection of Oriental, Chinese and Ethnic antiques. FREE PICK-UP IN THE CHICAGOLAND AREA. Up for your consideration is a very rare and early vase by Alfred Stellmacher, made a few years before founding “Amphora”. It is in the Jugendstil style, made in Turn-Teplitz, and features a raised decoration with colorful enamel filled sections is reminiscent of the cloisonne technique. Imagery depicts two seated figures smoking a pipe on either side of the vase. An abstract face is depicted just beneath the round opening on either side, between the two handles. Underside is stamped “Stellmacher Teplitz” in red. Height: 8″ x Width: 6″. This piece was likely crafted between 1890 – 1895, and is in the Jugendstil (German/Austrian Art Nouveau) style. Stellmacher (with others) founded Riessner, Stellmacher and Kessel Amphora Porcelain Works (RStK), better known as Amphora, in 1892. Logically, the mark on this piece should predate the formation of this company by a few years, although precise use of the years associated with this mark are unknown. The vase is in excellent condition, free of chips, cracks, damage, or loss. There are some areas of imperfection in the glazes and designs i. Enamels dripping below their associated area, etc. , but nothing distracting or significant. There are few “light” spots on the brown glaze (from manufacture), and a small area of minor roughness on the underside. All of these minor factory issues are clearly shown in the last few photos, and are minor. The vase is free of chips, cracks, damage, or loss. This quote is for the Continental U. Very Rare Telegraph Pottery Art Nouveau Large Vase/Jardiniere Circa Early 20th C
Very Rare Telegraph Pottery Art Nouveau Large Vase/Jardiniere Circa Early 20th C. 16 cm (6.25) high. Rare Art Nouveau large vase/jardinière, probably made in the early part of the 20th Century, in the USA by Telegraph Pottery. It is not easy to identify early 20th century (or late 19th century) Art Nouveau pieces. There were many being produced, both in Europe, and in the USA, but they are all very rare now. This particular example, does have certain affinities, with many of the US schools, like Teco, Rookwood, Rumrill, Red Wing, etc. All are very collectable, and this is a superb example. This piece has a brown and green drip glaze, and gorgeous Art Nouveau styled moulded decorations. It is embossed on the base, with the “Telegraph” name, and the number #4. Very good condition, no chips or cracks, but fine crazing throughout. This rare Art Nouveau piece would make a great addition to any collection. Check out my other items. I have other rare pieces of English, European, US & Australian Pottery, Art Glass, Fine Porcelain as well as many other collectable items. Be sure to add me to your favourites list.
