A very rare antique costume pendant, circa 1920. I have owned this for a great many years and never seen its like before or since. Made from early prototype plastics, it reminds me in some ways of the prison rings of the period. The pendant has an image of a woman set beneath an orange tinged, transparent plastic dome. This is then mounted within a larger oval plastic base which is opaque with a “burnt” orange colouration. Silver coloured metal bail affixed to top for wear on a chain. Measurements: 47mm drop length (from top of bail) by 34mm with a central depth of 9mm. In good antique condition; there is a small conchoidal chip to rim of back at approx 10 o’clock. Please see all the photos to appreciate.
