A very rare antique costume pendant, circa 1920. I have owned this for a great many years and never seen its like before or since. Made from early prototype plastics, it reminds me in some ways of the prison rings of the period. The pendant has an image of a woman set beneath an orange tinged, transparent plastic dome. This is then mounted within a larger oval plastic base which is opaque with a “burnt” orange colouration. Silver coloured metal bail affixed to top for wear on a chain. Measurements: 47mm drop length (from top of bail) by 34mm with a central depth of 9mm. In good antique condition; there is a small conchoidal chip to rim of back at approx 10 o’clock. The School for Scandal. A very rare and unusual two part prismatic glass Holophane pendant, completely original and untouched. The two sections of glass are housed in a decorative pierced brass cage. Both sections of glass have the correct patents numbers and the Holophane marks, and are in perfect condition. Age related discolouration to all the metal work, the light also has its original ceiling mount and brass chain. 28cm in diameter 38cm in drop 91cm chain length. A stunning, rare item; this Early 20th century pig is so sweet, the fine hair detailing is exquisite, with gorgeous little cabochon ruby eyes. Made from 18 carat gold, this would look amazing displayed on a gold charm bracelet or suspended from a chain as a pendant. Unmarked (consistent with age): tested as just over 18ct gold, 750. Measures: 13mm x 24mm x 7mm approx. Ruby eyes measure 1mm approx. Weight: 8.50 grams. Exellent condition, especially for it’s age; very very slight loss of detailing from rubbing on the thighs of the legs, please see photographs. Please note that the antique box used in the photographs is not included and is a photography prop only.
