Rare Set of twelve Early 19th Century Spode China Pattern 282 Plates. This set of stone china plates are decorated with a colorful flowering tree encircled with a floral border. The reverse is decorated with painted designs. They are impressed Spode(Pattern 282) Tree of Life and date from the early 19th Century. They measure approximately 7 + 5/8 inches in diameter. They are in excellent condition with the exception of some wear on the paint and gilt and some tiny chipping on the foot rims of some of the plates. WE USE DAYLIGHT BULBS WHEN PHOTOGRAPHING. Early 1800’s Pennsylvania Redware slipware plate. This is a rare size and measures only 6 3/4 in diameter. Beautiful pumpkin color with vibrant yellow slip. The yellow slip decoration is in a very rare three line swirl design. Very finely done uniform coggling around the rim. The plate has a few very fine scratches, and crazing consistent with age. There is one very small area of glaze loss in the center of the plate. No chips, hairlines, or repairs. Guaranteed to be a very rare and early plate. I collected slipware for almost 40 years and had an extensive collection of plates. This is the best of the best. Offered at a fraction of what I paid, and a fraction if its current value. This and one other spectacular plate that I have yet to list are the gems of my collection.
