What a unique piece this piece was found in an old Barn In beautiful Pennsylvania. The rocking horse is in great condition with no damage but the horse does exhibit some minimal ware. The horse measures 34 1/2 long by 12 wide by 20 tall. The horse is one of a kind and was hand made of old wooden crates with nails and flat head screws along time ago this is a beautiful piece suitable for any antique collection. RARE EARLY-MID 19TH CENTURY AMERICAN ANTIQUE DECORATED WOODEN SPINNING TOP, W/ORIGINAL, PERIOD GREEN & RED STRIPES. New England 19th c decorated artifacts. 6″ Height x 3 ½” Width. Offered for your careful review and consideration is this incredibly rare and absolutely beautiful early to mid 19th century American, antique, hand decorated, painted wooden spinning top, with green and red hand painted stripes over yellow. The wooden top is hand carved and the central wooden top stem, which spools the cord used to pull the top and spin it, is notched to accept the cord and is painted red, with green and yellow stripes. The body of the top is painted differently than the stem, with yellow paint being the base color, instead of red and with green and red hand painted stripes. There’s what appears to be a remnant of a wound cotton cord pull string still tied and knotted to the wooden stem. The top has some minor material loss at the extreme bottom of the top, with some wood loss and now missing what would have been an inserted metal pin or nail, on which the top would have quickly spun. This loss demonstrates prior use and gives the top its honest, vintage pedigree. The top is absolutely 100% untouched and hasn’t been rinsed, oiled or cleaned. A remarkable 19th century artifact. You will spend many a moon looking for another like it. Incredibly rare and a wonderful example of early American painted wooden ware and cultural artifacts. From early New England with love. Good to Very Good overall antique condition. As mentioned previously, there’s some minor wood loss and the apparent loss of a nail or metal fastener, that would’ve been inserted into the tapered end of the top’s bottom, allowing it to spin freely on a wood floor when the string was pulled. The body is however, absent of fractures or noticeable flea-bites to its edges. There are a few minor scuffs and faint abrasions to its painted sidewalls. The top hasn’t been wiped down, washed, rinsed or oiled. It demonstrates prior use and what would have to be considered to be gentle or infrequent use, considering its overall well preserved condition. A truly remarkable, unmolested early 19th century New England artifact. RARE EARLY 20TH CENTURY ANTIQUE’AUNT JEMIMA’ BLACK AME RIC ANA MONUMENTAL UPRIGHT CAST IRON DOORSTOP W/ORIGINAL. Late 19th-early 20th century figurative cast iron doorstops. 13″ Height x 8″ Width 3 ¼ Depth. Offered is this superb and one of the very best late 19th to early 20th century antique Ame ri can hand painted cast iron Aunt Jemima monumental doorstops at least I have ever seen. What makes it special is not only its very large, even monumental size at 13 inches in height, but the wonderful sculptural features that remain crisp and clear and not obscured by later enamel paint, which almost always buries the figurative details of the form in the viscous, thick enamel oil paint. This monumental doorstop now reads as pure Ame ri can folk art sculpture, with its original painted surfaces and remains unbastardized, untouched and undisturbed. That and that alone is enough to make this piece of turn-of- the-century Black Americana interesting enough, never mind the exemplary and extraordinary original painted surfaces. Without any demonstrable flea-bites to its edges, deep abrasions, dents or dings and really without any other kind of deformities that a drop or serious tumble might have caused. It’s nearly flawless and only shows the normal depreciating effects of time. It was discovered on the South Shore of Massachusetts and is estate-fresh and fresh to the marketplace, never having been seen outside of the home where it was found. Not only an extraordinary Ame ri can antique but an extraordinary Ame ri can cultural artifact. Very rare in this kind of well-preserved, untouched, unadulterated original condition. One killer antique painted Aunt Jemima cast iron doorstop. Good to Very Good overall antique condition. Butley, 1820 / D. Good to Very Good overall antique condition. Only one leather coupling for the metal ring that holds the heavy rope swinging handle to the leather fire bucket has torn.
