RARE EARLY PAIR MURANO GLASS LAMPS. Impressive and rare pair of murano glass lamps. The glass is hand blown in style of ribbon work and latticino. Three colours of white, green blue and gold fleck (copper aventurine). Elegantly shaped and standing on original metal bases enamelled in the original colours. These lamps will need rewiring. An exciting, rare and highly decorative unique original pair of side lamps. Size – 63 cms. (53 to top of glass) Total Weight – 4.7 kgs. Extremely rare Ferro Toso Barovier glass bulldog, from the late 1930s. The color is red paste glass with gold leaf. The eyes are white latticmo with black pupils. It is in excellent vintage condition. There is a sharp pontil mark, on the dogs hind quarters. I believe the hot glass tail was was affixed over the top of the pontil mark, it in order to conceal it. This was originally done at the factory. The tail has not been broken or repaired. See the last few photographs. I have examined it with a jewelers loop. The dog measures approximately 4″ long 2-1/4″ wide by 3-3/8 tall. The piece still retains its original foil label. This very rare label reads GENUINE VENETIAN GLASS ITALY F&B Co. From this short lived entity. This is important piece, in a fantastic and very desirable color, designed by Ercole Barovier with the unusual label still in place.
