Latin manuscript fragment on parchment. 36 lines each side. Size : 26, 5 x 7 cm. Produced in France or England, during the first half of the 12th century. Fragment of a Bible manuscript from the High Middle Ages in an extremely clean Gothic rotunda, with texts from the Acts of the Apostles and a passage about the conversion of the Apostle Paul. For sale is this incredibly rare incunable leaf from a bible printed in 1498! Being an Incunable (from the Latin “Infant’s Cradle”) means that this was printed pre-1500, during the early days (or infancy) of the printing press. It makes this quite a rare piece! This piece is in good overall condition, on handmade paper, with evidence of aging (light staining, marks, spotting, small tears, etc).
