Robert Thompson Mouseman Leather Chair Very Rare Early Piece Made By Robert Thompson himself – Very early piece unsure of exactly when this was made… My Grandfather bought / acquired pieces from 1920 / 1930s onwards… And in the coal business all his life.. My mother was born in 1937. This is a piece made without a mouse on it.. In Very Good condition… My Grandad BoB Wilson from Leyburn used to know Robert Thompson personally and delivered coal to him and he ended up running a large coal distribution yard / business and he gathered a large Collection that I was left when he passed away.. He used to swap pieces with Robert Thompson for his coal bills they were good friends.. The leather is Very thick and this chair is Extremely well made and very rare as all my pieces have been! Chair photos have been taken without cleaning or polishing the chair, it is a bit dusty… Will look a million dollars after a wood & leather polish. Been in our attic room un-used for decades. I lived in Europe as an expat for many years and amassed a a superb collection of antiques (silver, porcelain, books, art, antique textiles) which I bought from antique shops, private dealers etc. I have priced all of them for much less than I paid for them, so they are bargains in the full sense of the word. I found these glorious boots in a London shop and were told by the owner that these types of boots were collected avidly by John Galliano who found them an inspiration for his designs. Gold thread embroidery on velvet, with leather soles, these Uzbek 19th C boots were worn indoors and are often referred to as’leather stockings’.. Antique Steiff Bear, 11 high, circa 1900s. Has black shoe button eyes, blond mohair, is stuffed with excelsior, has a center seam in front and back. He has leather paws which have been hand sewn, I don’t know if these are original or replaced later. The upper area of his arms and thighs is no longer fully stuffed and his mohair is missing/thinning in many areas. He has no button. There is no odor, mold or dust.
