I have researched online on this design make and product, I have not found one yet. Some of the tobacco leaf stoneware all seem to have some sort of damage this one is in absolutely beautiful condition from chips cracks and crazing. An absolute rare item. A stunning pulegoso glass and gold leaf pianta grassa designed by Napoleone Martinuzzi in the 1930’s and probably made during his years as artistic director at Venini. It is in immaculate condition. It has no acid etched signature at the bottom nor label, but prior to 1930’s Venini did not use to sign its work in acid and the label could have been lost. For sale is this incredibly rare incunable leaf from a bible printed in 1498! Being an Incunable (from the Latin “Infant’s Cradle”) means that this was printed pre-1500, during the early days (or infancy) of the printing press. It makes this quite a rare piece! This piece is in good overall condition, on handmade paper, with evidence of aging (light staining, marks, spotting, small tears, etc).
