Rare, beautiful, early Indian silvered bronze Bale Krishna, 14 century Vijaya nagar period. Here is a small, but exquisite, silvered bronze, Bale Krishna. This bronze is a fine example of the direct connection and influence between the Chola Dynasty, mostly in south India, and the later, more central Indian, Vijayanagar Empire. The amount of detail, movement and expression packed into a rather small bronze, is quite amazing. There are very limited examples of silvered or gilded bronzes from India of this period. The Krishna is in a perfect condition. No dents or losses to the bronze. There are two minor casting errors to the lower part of the base. Weight 186 gr = 0 lb 6.6 oz. 4 cm = 1.6 inch. Height 9 cm = 3.5 inch. The item “Rare, beautiful, early Indian silvered bronze Bale Krishna, 14 century” is in sale since Friday, April 12, 2019. ENGRAVED STONE FROM ORIGINAL 1918 HARLEY-DAVIDSON FACTORY IN. The stone you get is the one pictured. An addition was built in 1918 at the original Harley-Davidson Milwaukee, WI, plant. This was one of the ORIGINAL STONES that was used around the windows and doors of the Harley-Davidson 1918 structure!!! Around 2002 the wing was knocked down and put into storage at the Harley-Davidson Museum there. Each comes with a letter of authenticity which tells the story and chain of control of them. Each COA is hand-signed and has a unique individually numbered hologram attached. You will get the stone pictured. What a great gift…. What a great cause… Its a win-win, that’s for sure. What Harley person wouldn’t LOVE this! Dale Beatty and John Gallina (pictured at bottom of the COA) were injured in a Humvee in Iraq in 2004. Dale lost both legs, John suffered traumatic brain injuries. They could have chosen to respond any way to these disabling injuries, but they chose to not allow their injuries hold them back. They founded Purple Heart Homes, and in fact were pictured on the cover of TIME’s 2011 cover under the caption “The New Greatest Generation”. Dale unexpected passed away last year, but John and their team carry on. John shys away from individual recognition, but is rightfully-so proud of their charity and what it has done for our veterans. The charity fixes up houses to help our veterans out by building ramps, widen doorways, insulating, installing new electric wires, hot water heaters, and much more – at NO COST to the veteran! It is all funded from donations and fundraisers like this. They also have a program where they refurbish entire homes and sell them to the veteran at 50% of the home’s value. What a great program! Also, if this is a bit out of your price range, please check my other auctions as I also have all the bricks from the structure too, and have put a nice plaque on them. The pipe tomahawk is in excellent condition with no repairs or damage. Spontoon style head patterned after the pike heads of the Spanish Conquistadors and explorers. Nice head forged from the barrel of a gun. Octagonal barrel and rifling inside. Looking closely, you will see the seam where the hardened bit was forged in to the shoulder of the tomahawk, commonly called a lap weld or lap seam. A good sign of authenticity and age. Walnut wood haft is original to the head. The brass tacks are original old square shank tacks. All along the haft are many ceremonial file branding marks made by placing a file or rasp in the fire until it was bright red and then burning the file into the haft. This was done for aesthetic “looks” and ceremonial purposes. There is a drilled hole for attaching drops or beads. The head is ever so slightly loose, the result of the wood drying and shrinking over the course of 170 years. A hide or leather gasket is seen between the eye and head. VERY NICE patina all over, really shows its age! The unusual style head is very desirable. Conservatively dated to 1780 but may be earlier. The haft of the tomahawk is measuring 21.5″ long and the head is measuring about 8.5″ long. Please ask any questions you may have. Thank you so much for looking!
