This is a very early (pre 1890’s) hand pressed bisque socket head French doll by Jumeau. She has her original set brown glass eyes and a lightly painted shaded closed mouth. She’s marked on the back of her head: 6. These early Jumeau dolls were marked only with a size number and they did not have the wide cheeks of the better known later Jumeau face. This doll has a professionally repaired forehead. It does not show on the surface. She came to me already repaired and I’m not sure what has been done but looking inside the head it looks like an upside down “V” shaped repair. I put a light in the head (photo #9) but the forehead has been air-brushed and doesn’t show much. Her eyebrows may have been touched-up but I believe the rest of her beautiful face is factory original. The area seen on the right side of her head (photo #8) is not a crack but appears to be an uneven paint layer. She’s on a straight wrist rare eight ball body that’s in great original condition and is well strung. This is a very old doll so there is some expected wear on the body paint. She came to me with no clothing. Her clothes have been entirely made from Victorian childrens clothing. She wears a very old hand made mohair wig. It is somewhat worn out but it’s what she had and may be original. Besides, I like the way it looks on her! It’s only pinned to the pate so it’s easily changed. The added head band is lightly sewn to the wig to cover the obvious hand sewn part of the wig. It’s easy enough to remove. This is an exceptionally beautiful doll, there are not many of these left in the world. The doll stand is not included. Thank you for looking at my sale. Vintage Props, Unusual & Decorative Antiques. Here for sale is a fantastic antique sewing machine made by Canadian company Wanzer B. It is dated 1882 on the thread cover. As you can see from the photos it is in a poor condition but the needle does go up and down when using the hand cranked wheel. Very rare and early example. Etched on one side of the thread cover is the company logo and patent date 1883. Richard Mott Wanzer was born in September 1818 and was the responsible for producing the first sewing machine in Canada. The Wanzer B model was patented in 1883 and was available in Great Britain in 1884. This example is therefore very early. The Wanzer B is a hand cranked model with no gears and works on a triple action motion. The machine was awarded a gold medal at the international Health Exhibition held in 1884. Shows extensive signs of wear and tear as it is old and has been used, but only adds to its character. Signs of rust and enamel peeling in places. This is a very old model and shows its age! Great decorative item which would look fantastic in any home or business interior. We are a family company and love sourcing unusual pieces which bring a burst of individual style to the most modern of interiors, creating interiors with soul! 32 cm width, 18 cm depth, 25 cm height. This is a very rare and hard to find complete, hand carved set with board and Box. You can see in the photo of the two light colored knights where the jowel lines are different, there are other small carving differences as well but this is the easiest to see. It is a complete set, the kings measure 76mm (about 3 tall). The knights also have the typical Lardy flat heads and are two pieces on the knights. They are solid wood and the lighter pieces have a beautiful honey glow to the. They are also weighted and have a very nice feel. I believe this may be a very early French Lardy set. The pieces are in excellent condition, the board has one place that has a paint rub on it. I have not tried to remove it. Otherwise everthing else is in near perfect condition with very little wear. This is a large and very fine antique Navajo rug. It appears to be a Transitional era piece and the artistic design is phenomenal. It is incredibly heavy for its size and weighs a bit over 10 pounds. It is quite thick with a very tight weave. The wool all appears to be hand dyed and has the great looking variations in color from the dyes being hand dyed. It measures approximately 55″ x 84″. It has some wear and minor discoloration here and there from age and use but overall is a fantastic looking early Navajo blanket. Very rare Schuco Donald Duck Figure. Early pre-WW2 Schuco production. Featuring a Donald Duck style duck figure. Made of tin hand painted in beige, green and orange to beak. He is wearing a felt jacket and carries a cane and a backpack. Also a piece of felt as tail. He is about 5 3/4 inches tall.
