Ultra Rare Clear White Crystal Stueben Glass Buddha Kwan Yin Figurine 1920/30s
Posted by admin On June 23, 2023
Ultra Clear White Crystal Stueben Glass. Buddha Kwan Yin Figurine 1920/30s. This ultra rare heavy clear White Crystal Kwan Yin. The figurine is standing up with a hair bun in the middle of the top of its head. It is wearing a long robe. The black stand in some of the photos is included with the figurine. Stueben glass was made in the United States in the early 1900’s. See the Dimitroff Steuben book. For an example of this piece. Kwan Yin in clear White Crystal is very rare. This Kwan Yin figurine is in good condition with only one small chip on the very bottom of the figurine where the robe ends. It is hard to notice, I had to really look to find it. It would be lovely in anyone’s collection who loves rare figurines or centre pieces. It does have seams. And mold lines and air bubbles in the glass but it is not damage. There is a metal band going around the base of the figurine below its feet and above the peg on the bottom. The figurine is 10 inches. Is 2.5 inches or 6.5cm across. It is 11 & 3/8 inches or 29cms tall on the stand. The figurine is very heavy and solid. The Kwan Yin is very scarce and very hard to find in any colour, you do not see them on auctions anymore. This rare Kwan Yin has been in my collection for a long time, but now someone else can enjoy this lovely figurine in their collection. Have a look at all the photos to see the lovely colour and condition. I know what it is like to get broken items and feel bitterly disappointed when they are not wrapped properly. I will double box this lovely. Clear White Crystal Kwan Yin figurine. To protect it, and make sure you get it in the same beautiful condition it is in now.

Early blown green glass textured one handled jug, 16cms height, rare item
Posted by admin On June 15, 2023
Unusual green glass small jug of unknown origin and date. It appears to be early hand blown and very well made. Research suggests it dates to pre 1800 and maybe continental. It’s a very nice piece with its textured finish and lovely colouration. Non smoking house and stored in dark and dry conditions. I have collected many items over the years and it is now time to let some go as well as finally have room in an overflowing loft. So please study them carefully. If you are are uncertain of anything please contact me and ask. I have looked up the costs of all the items and tried to keep the starting price fair in order to allow market forces to dictate. If you get a bargain then good as we will both win.

Outstanding Rare Large Red Consolidated Art Glass Pigeon Blood Bittersweet Vase
Posted by admin On May 18, 2023
A Fabulous 1920’s Antique Red Vase. Collectors of Consolidated / Phoenix Glassware know that red pieces are very rare and desirable! This wonderful Bittersweet Vase is believed to be the work of Reuben Haley as part of the much sought-after Martele Line. It measures about 9-5/8″ tall and 5-1/4″ wide. The opening is about 3-1/4 wide. My grandmother was a well-known life-long antique glass collector here in Minnesota. In the 1970’s, she gave this vase to my mother, who is also an antique glass collector. The color is a deep ruby red or pigeon blood color. There are bubbles inside the glass, and a few other manufacturing inconsistencies, which attest to the age and authenticity of this piece. There is very minor wear and a couple tiny pinpricks along the rim, from years of careful enjoyment. Nothing interferes with the beauty of this piece. An essential item for a serious collector. The Gold Aurene Iridescence is Stunning and is worthy of any of the finest Steuben or Tiffany examples. Same can be said of the Exquisite Pulled Feather design expertly executed here by Quezal in this Museum worthy example of their finest work. This wonderful cabinet vase measures about Four and a half inches tall and Six inches across. The following history of Quezal I copied from The Met Online website. Two former employees of Louis Comfort Tiffany’s glassworks, Martin Bach and Thomas Johnson, founded the Quezal firm and named it after the brightly feathered Central American quetzal bird. Using the same method of manufacture practiced at the Tiffany factory, the company made artistic ware with pulled and applied decoration of lustrous iridescence. Rare ORNATE miniature ANTIQUE purple EAPG Early American Pattern Glass tiny CUP
Posted by admin On April 9, 2023
Tall beautiful AND fancy, deep SUN COLORED AMETHYST (SCA) antique CUP or GLASS. This is NOT a reproduction but an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE B lown I nto M old glass, dating back to the 1800’s. Che ck out the design, pattern, that it was molded in = Early American Pattern Glass. And also the astrological / sunburst pattern on the base. Condition : It is in SPARKLING CLEAN condition. It may have some wear from use and/or age but it looks to be in just about perfection condition. NO cracks, chips, dings, damage, etc. Age : An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE blown-glass vessel, ca. This little vessel has all of the similarities and patterns of a normal size cup except this one comes in an extremely miniature size, being just over one inch tall. It possibly was part of an antique doll tea set but the detail and work that went into it seems like it was designed for a much more sophisticated use, like for sipping fine liqueur out of. This purple color is the result of having manganese in the glass. Manganese is a mineral, a rock, that was mined, crushed, and pulverized into a powder, then added to vats of molten liquid glass, and acted as a decolorizing agent to turn the natural aqua-tinted glass into a pure crystal clear colorless glass. Then it was blown into a mold to create a vessel. But when exposed to the ultraviolet rays of the sun or other sources of UV rays, it triggers a chemical reaction and the manganese starts to oxidize and slowly turns a lavender or amethyst color. The end result is what collectors refer to as SCA (Sun Colored Amethyst) glass. The longer it is in the sun the purpler it becomes. This little shot glass was exposed to some concentrated UV rays which had the same affect as the sun, but a lot faster. It has not been colored, stained, or altered. No matter how a glass item has turned purple (direct sunlight or UV rays in controlled environment) they all turn the same purple color as it is the same chemical reaction taking place. The only difference is the time it took to turn purple. What is important is that an item is old enough to turn purple as with few exceptions, only clear glass from before 1915 have manganese in them and will turn SCA. After this, with the start of WWI, manganese was no longer available as foreign imports decreased and domestic resources turned towards the war effort. Selenium sulphate then replaced manganese as a glass de-colorizer and when exposed to UV rays, it turns a yellow / straw color, and a dark burnt amber color. Generally speaking NO MORE purple glass after 1915! Not only does this deep purple/amethyst color make this a great looking little antique glass, but it also authenticates it as being truly antique. In summary, look at the design, thick, heavy-glass, and just beautiful in the deep lavender color, check it out!
