This chronometer is a high quality rare antique single fusee marine chronometer of 2 day duration in excellent condition, its certainly all original, made in Russia The chronometer comes with its double hinged opening box which has its original locking latch to the top hinged lid which is in perfect working order, the hinged lid has its original glass through which you can see the chronometer The chronometer also hinges open at half way to reveal access to the chronometer gimbles etc The case has a stunning mahogany with age patina with brass corner mounts and a plaque to the front which is signed by the maker The silvered dial is totally original with the power reserve dial to top which runs down with the movement and tells you how many hours left before winding. The dial also features a 1/2 second beating regulation subs seconds dial to bottom with original hands The movement is a high quality 2 day marine chronometer movement with fusee Barrel and compensated earnshaw helical spring detent escapement. The escapement is in perfect working order and the movement runs smoothly and keeps dead accurate time as you would expect from a chronometer, the clock comes with its original brass winding key The clock case measures 6.75″ high x 7.5″ wide x 7.5 deep. This listing is for a rare antique skeleton clock. The clock is English and it dates to the early 19th century. The clock was made by Edward Scales of Manchester, England. According to “Watchmakers & Clockmakers of the World” by GH Baillie, Scales was active in Manchester during the early 19th century, starting around 1800. The base is made from nice burled wood. The time only chain fusee movement does appear to be in overall good condition. But it has been in storage for quite some time. The clock could use some routine servicing and the fusee cable needs to be replaced. Glass dome is missing. 11 x 6 x 14.5 inches.

This clock is a beautiful antique single fusee public turret wall clock with its original A frame movement and anchor escapement. The clock has a 15.75 inch diameter dial and a 19 inch diameter ebonised surround all of which is in good condition It is a very rare turret clock where the dial would fix to the outside of the building and the movement would sit on the inside on a seat board or backet, both the winding arbour and hand adjuster are on the back of the movement to make it easier The clock would of originally sat on the face of a high street shop or something like that but i came across it when it had been mounted to a gentleman’s workshop and was all working away but he was moving and had no where to put it The clock features an original 15.75 inch dial with original steel English hands. The dial is a replacement with it being a transfer on a metal sheet, the transfer is an exact copy of the original even down to the discolouration and wear The original movement is a English Single chain driven fusee with a original anchor escapement and A framed plates that is fantastic. The movement has an extendable bar to connect the hands through the depth of the wall The movement is very clean and is in excellent condition in full working order keeping excellent time, movement comes with its pendulum and its original crank winding key The clock measures 19 inches diam and looks super impressive wherever it is displayed The dial measures 15.75 inches diam This is a rare public turret dial clock which makes it a perfect investment clock and a beautiful display piece. Looks absoultely fantastic wherever it is displayed and a true talking point. It is a very rare turret clock where the dial would fix to the outside of the building and the movement would sit on the inside on a seat board or backet, both the winding arbour and hand adjuster are on the back of the movement to make it easier The clock would of originally sat on the face of a high street shop or something like that but i came across it when it had been mounted to a gentleman’s workshop and was all working away but he was moving and had no where to put it The clock features an original 15.75 inch dial with original steel English hands. This is an interesting little verge fusee carriage clock. I believe it to be English, but have not researched the clock in any way. The movement looks like a watch movement, but the plates are square so I dont think it is. The dial is silvered and nicely engraved and the clock runs. I did not test it for accuracy. I think that the tip of the minute hand is missing. The brass case has a nice patina. I notice that two of the four dial screws are missing. This is a rare and early clock and I doubt your going to see anything similar so dont miss it!
