#009 Extremely Rare Early Gledhill Brook 13362 Fusee Time Recorder Wall Clock
I have for sale one of the very first Gledhill Brook oak cased clocking in machines ever made, and looking in my book containing the company serial numbers, this could even be a prototype for future models, as in January 1918 when general production started, the very first serial number was 13800, this machine has the serial number 13362. The solid oak case has been thoroughly stripped and cleaned, finished off with a thorough dark oak beeswax. All the locks and keys, including the lock for the In/Out bar work perfectly and securely. The Gledhill T-bar crank handle is also present. All the brassware has been dipped in horological cleaner, and now sparkles like new. The heavy solid brass Empire chain fusee movement is clean, has been checked, oiled, and is operating perfectly with an excellent swing from the pendulum. Timekeeping is of course excellent from a mechanism of this quality. The heavy cast iron printer has been cleaned, and the blue ribbon re-inked. This printer is a rare item due to it having not just the common hour/minute/day wheels, but also the date and month, not many of these types around. The printer stamps the information on the card as shown in the photos. This unit is in excellent condition, fully operational, and comes with all its keys. Included are 5 clocking in cards. I do have 2 seperate metal card holders (not advertised) if required for sale. Dimensions are 43″ high by 19″ wide by 11 deep. This has to be collection only due to its weight. I can work around whenever suitable without a problem. If you have any questions relating to this item or any of my other items for sale, please contact me on 07758885795. Quality & Early Fusee Convex Dial Clock. Rare 11in Version
Quality & Early Fusee Convex Dial Clock. Delightful and top quality fusee convex dial clock which signed on the dial’Brockbank & Atkins, London’ and numbered’2075′. This clock has the very rare smaller 11in dial, most of these are 12in so the smaller ones are much sort after. The case has damage to the rim and bottom. This clock will need significant restoration so please see all photos to see what is included and its condition. The dial has a great colour and condition perhaps the name and number on the dial could be touched in? This clock has beautifully shaped hands typical of an early clock of this nature. The bezel is nicely case and the hinge and glass are both good however there is no lock present. Both doors are present, the bottom door has one detached hinge (see photos). The movement and dial are original to each other, the movement does have nicely shaped plates but the crutch has had a repair. The pendulum is present but is coming apart but looks original. The case is made of oak with mahogany veneer and has retained its hanging hook (some veneer loss at the bottom). The movement is nice and clean and is ticking away well and the spring is good and fully wound, so this clock might run? I’m sure with a good clean and service that this clock would work well and is priced to allow for the restoration to case etc. This is a very hard to find small size convex dial clock by a top maker requiring a sympathetic restoration. Postal costs refer to UK mainland addresses. I do not sell reproduction items or copies, I also do not clean or restore my items but prefer to offer them in a genuinely sleepy state ready for professional restoration. I often do have items for sale that are in superb’ready to use’ condition and have many satisfied clients built up over 20 years. Please see my feedback. I always pack my items very well and securely using appropriate materials. Please note that as all shippers refuse to insure antique clocks in transit I cannot offer a guarentee for their safe arrival, but will always ensure that they are well protected in transit and with a recognised courier. In the unlikely event of a problem, please contact me first so that I can have the opportunity to arrange a solution. The item “Quality & Early Fusee Convex Dial Clock. A Large, Rare 13 Dial Early 1900s W&H School/Railway Single Fusee Clock GWO
A Large, Rare13 Dial Early 1900s W&H School/Railway. Single Fusee Clock – GWO. Overall width 16.5, Dialwidth 13, Depth 5. This well-known company originally founded in 1825, were also involved in optical instrument manufacture. Were considered the finest clockmakers in the Victorian era. They were based in several towns in Germanys Black Forest region. The company was established in1810 by Thomas Winterhalder in Friedenweiler, southern Germany. Hence the trade mark W & H. Sch clearly visible on the movement. The large heavy metal cream 13 dial. (much rarer than the normal 12 dial) is in very good condition. It has the appearance of being recently professionally restored, is surrounded by a large section 23mm deep brass bezel and displays the large black hands and Roman numerals to good advantage. The bezel hinge still allows the glass door to close well on its brass clasp. The glass, which would appear to be a later replacement is 3mm thick and therefore stronger than the more normal 2mm thickness. The high quality 8-day W & H Fusee movement. Really is a beautifully neat, well-engineered piece of German craftsmanship. It has been bench tested for several full spring cycles and shows very good time-keeping. It comes complete with key and original W & H pendulum. The beautifully polished all-wood oak case with superb grain. Has a side opening door and a bottom door for pendulum access, both complete with brass closures. The back box is secured with 4 matching pegs. Altogether, this well-proportioned antique timepiece is in remarkably good operating condition and considering the unusual dial size, and the rarely found smaller than usual high quality movement is both collectible and capable of enhancing any room in either a domestic or office setting. Therefore where p0ssible local collection is recommended. UK buyers only please.
