Stunning and exceltionally rare petit point embroidered handbag (31x33cm incl handle). The handle (8cm2) is jade as is the clasp inlay as well as the small stones. The pearl embrodery is in extremey good condition, but as you can see the metal handle, which is very soft, has suffered a break. Its possible to bend it into place, but it would need professional restoration if you want to use it. The silk interior is intact and unblemished. According to the Purse Museum (private collection by Vicky Schwager) these bags were importet to the US in early 20thC. She states on her webpage that Department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue featured them in advertisements.

Rare original antique Eastern European (Hungarian/romanian) embroidered sheepskin waistcoat. The waistcoat is very old and shows areas of hair loss on the front and inside. There are also small losses of wool to the embroidery. The back of the waistcoat is in very good condition. It is a small size (shown on a size 8 mannequin) and can be worn (it’s quite heavy) though you might want to keep it as a collector’s item.
Please note the condition – there is loose stitching around the brim, one of the embellishments is hanging off, and the leather interior is badly cracked. It’s also quite dusty. I’ve pictured all of these things for your consideration, so please see the pics. This is a great piece of history for the collector. I could not find another Tardan hat of this age.
