Rare Antique Pair Decanters C 1840 19th Cen Crystal Cut Glass Mallet Christmas. Here are a rare and stunning pair of early Victorian Mallet shaped lead crystal, cut glass and engraved decanters circa 1840. Each decanter with an upper double neck ring and lower double neck ring, oval cut neck and petal cut shoulders, oval printie and diamond mitre cut body and star cut bases, with hollow stoppers. Please view the photographs carefully. Condition: Excellent overall condition, with minor wear and light scratches to the bases, one tiny bruise to near the shoulder of one of the decanters and a few tiny nibbles to the base of one of the stoppers and one of the stoppers is slight cloudy. For accuracy there are small air bubbles in places, which is natural to the glass making process. Measurements: 28.5 cms in height and the diameters of each base is 9 cms approximately. Perfect Christmas present or gift for a serious collector. Lovely antique French blue glass scent bottle with ormolu decoration, adorned with painted plaque. I believe would have been bought as a Grand Tour souvenir. Stunning quality item in excellent condition. 10.7 cm tall. IN VERY NICE CONDITION DESPITE ITS 142YEARS OF AGE & USE SHOWING very MINOR WEAR, BOTH The bottle and stopper ARE IN PERFECT UNDAMAGED CONDITION. PERFECT FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR. This would make a stunning present gift. THERE ARE SOME very LIGHT SCRATCHES TO THE GLASS BUT NO CRACKS or chips. THE “FLIP TOP” MECHANISM IS IN FULL WORKING ORDER AS IS THE PERFECT RARE GLASS STOPPER. The polished Pontil mark at the base is a great way to tell it’s early age. I have approximately 300 antique perfume bottles which I have taken many years collecting. (see a few in picture 11). I have also included a picture of part of my 750 strong collection of Sampson Mordan in picture 12. Obviously these are not included in the price of this item, just for reference. If you want spotless then the high street is for you, but if you want a great antique that will appreciate in price with age then this is for you. You don’t get this by messing people about.
