For sale is a spectacular late 19th century to early 20th century American tramp art miniature two over three chest of drawers with a mirrored back splash. This piece comes to us from a private estate. This piece is constructed of cigar boxes for the drawers. It has a two board backing which is all original to the piece. The construction is fine and is a wonderful example of early American tramp art work. When the drawers are pulled out you can see various stenciled markings from the different brands of cigar boxes used to construct this piece. Ce in over all good condition. We do notice some areas of loss and wear which is all age appropriate. The surface patina is all original. There’s find oxidation to the wood and the piece is in over all sturdy condition. A rare and genuine early oak iron bound chest from the 16th Century. Nice dry patina, colour and iron work which commensurates with age with a couple of small replacements eg small piece key in framed lid. However, overall all original. A little rickety but so would you be if you were over 500 yrs old!!! But you can forgive such a lovely old thing. Imagine what it could tell you if it could talk! Not going to fall apart anytime soon though and still great for storage! Also can use as a gorgeous old coffee table/side table. Rare early 20th century pine chest of 9 drawers. These were purpose made for use in a small countryside post office. The chest has 9 slender drawers all of the same depth. Each drawers has central dividers and cut away sides (see photos). Constructed from waxed and stained pine with simple turned pine drawer pulls. Original makers label to inside one drawer (see photo 4). The chest is an ideal size to suit all homes, and its slender style allows it fit the smallest alcove perfectly. This is an unusual chest and one that will enhance both retail and domestic environments. 106.5cm height x 71.5cm wide x 47.5cm deep.
