Very Rare Collection of early Candle Snuffers 19th. The snuffers come from an old 18th century mansion located in Venice, Italy. Condition is excellent for the age. A lovely example of the skill of the Wemyss artists. This one might have been painted by Karol Necola. He died in 1915 and Edwin Sandland became the head artist. In 1928 Karols son Joe Necola took over before bringing the whole pottery down here in Devon The design is a soft delicate pink rose design and could have been painted by any one of these three. The base is signed Wemyss and the Wemyss mark is impressed, which tells us that this piece is. Pre 1930, the year they moved from Fife to Devon. They are 18cm tall. Antique Tin Litho Christmas Angel Bells Candle Table Decoration, Rare, Early 1900s. Rarely seen, these beautiful Angel Bells are probably early 20th Century. It comes in several (4) pieces you assemble. Total height is 11 1/2 tall. When cans les are lit, the heat cases the wheel to turn, thus ringing the chimes. The candles you see here are newer and included. Most likely made in Germany. There is discoloration on tin from candle flame yes, they must have been used! The one star had been broken off, but I saved it and perhaps you can glue back. Wonderful litho of manger scene. Use photos for majority of description. Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a gorgeous American hand made early-mid 1800’s tiger maple candle storage box. The body of the box is made of 3/4 thick, solid tiger maple wood with rich, mellow coloration and prominent graining. The box is a larger size than normally found and has a dovetailed construction with wide bordered chamfered sliding top with locking mechanism. The key hole has a brass edge and we do have a working key which may or may not be original to the box. The wide dovetails are set far apart which is generally a sign of older construction. Candle boxes are generally rectangular boxes with tight fitting sliding lids and were generally made from less expensive woods as they were made to be utilitarian storage boxes used to protect candles from rodents. This box was definitely made by a very talented wood worker possibly as a gift for a special person due to its construction details and use of a more desirable wood than normally used. Measures 15″ long, 8″ wide and 6 deep. Weighs 6.3 pounds. This unusual tiger maple box is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws reflecting only minor signs of normal wear.
