Antique French Bontems Singing Bird Cage in great condition, with some patina. Item has all original parts and has not been restored. This sweet treasure sings beautifully. Rest it near a window, and wind it up when there is a party, heads will turn with a smile. The cage has a lovely embossed base and sides. Along with an ornate top. “Made in France” imprinted on base. Key wound with volume lever. Measures 11″Tall x 6-1/2″ Diameter. This unique singing bird cage, would be a wonderful gift to treasure. REMEMBER THE HOLIDAYS ARE RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER. English bone china teapot of rococo form with bird head spout, milk jug, lidded sugar bowl, 5 cups with five saucers all decorated with white ground & multi coloured flowers with heavy scrolled gilding. Pattern no 1180 but not marked. Condition is good with some wear to the gilding a crack to the lid of the sugar bowl and a chip to the beck on the teapot. Some wear to the center of each saucer. Cups 6.6 cm tall x 8.7 cm diameter rim. Saucers 15 cm diameter. Milk jug 11.5 cm tall x 13.5 cm handle to spout. Lidded teapot 21.5 cm tall x 27 cm handle to spout. Early Antique Egg Carrier. Presented for your consideration is this early egg carrier or holder. The carrier is made of pewter and features ornately designed handles on the sides as well as the top of the carrier. Top of the carrier has two flaps which open to reveal the removable, two tier egg holder. An ornate leaf pattern is on each of the four sides of the removable carrier and there are a dozen slots for eggs. The carrier easily slides in and out of the holder. The front side of the carrier has a small bird engraved into the middle. This early and hard to find egg carrier would make a wonderful addition to any pewter or kitchen item collection! A fun item to store eggs in! There are two holes in the bottom of the carrier but could be soldered. Flaps are bent inward, but not drastically, and the insert shows some bending on both tiers. Bottom edge of the front and back appears to have been repaired at one point. Typical light wear from age and use. Overall in GOOD-VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the best details. Measures 11 1/2″ handle to handle, 5″ deep and 11″ tall (6″ tall excluding the top handle). On offer is a beautiful early antique, Victorian taxidermy. A cased specimen of a Stone Curlew standing on naturalistic base amongst foliage. Charming piece of Victorian taxidermy, glazed to front, typical style of the period. Has 2 ring hooks to hang up or can be displayed on table / side board. Wear commensurate with age’as found’ condition. The bits is in good order with some fading present, notible to tip of beak, as is often the norm. There are water marks and stains to the blue background inside the roof and top back of the interior – possibly some dampness damage sustained over the years (pictured). Certainly does nothing to detract & displays beautifully just as it is. Please note that the item is vintage and does show signs of its age such as tarnish, surface wear, marks etc. Our photographs form an important part of the item description and should be examined carefully.
