Meissen Hoopoe Bird on Stump Porcelain 282 Large Art Deco. This is a handsome rare Meissen bir. D naturally modeled and. Perched on an elaborate d. Etailed white tree trunk base with pastel green foliage. On the undersides is the Meissen mark. The Hoopoe is a stunning migratory bird similar to a woodpecker that lives across Europe, Asia and Africa. This porcelain Hoopoe figurine is finely modeled in a handsome pose, alertly observing his surroundings. The unusual bird has a beautiful expression with small. And a long, slender pointed beak. Enriched in shades of brown, the tips of its double crest and tail feathers highlighted in dark-brown and black. The mound base is decorated with a beetle, surrounded by branches with sprigs, branches and blossoming flowers. The composition of the piece is exquisitely laid out in a natural setting. Rare Antique Early 19thc Arborescent Bird Fountain Chintz Fabric Lg. Quilt Piece

Absolutely beautiful and so rare to find. A fine early bird chintz quilted textile from about 1820. The front is a bird drinking from a fountain or possibly an urn or fountain surrounded by arborescent foliage and flora. There is a lovely speckled design to the ground. Lovely soft autumnal type hues of sage green and soft browns. Either English or American. Not overly glazed, soft and soft tones. The back is a madder toned cotton print which is later than the cotton chintz on the front so very possibly generational. I imagine once part of a larger counterpane. One edge is stitched under as is the bottom in tiny stitches I have tried to show in the photos. The other edge is raw. An amazing piece for the collector of rare early textiles. Displays beautifully in an early setting. Strong and stable and in fine condition for it’s age. Some age tanning to the bottom area as seen in photo #10 which to me adds lovely charisma to this charming specimen. Measures just slightly over 10″ wide by aprox 73-74″ long. I sell antique and vintage fabric. Each textile is different; some possibly used, some unused. I will give you my best assessment. I do not always launder them nor do I know all their history, how they have been stored over time etc.. Rare 18th/ Early 19th Miniature Sz School Girl Sampler w Bird, Flowers & Alphabet

Rare small size school girl sampler. Rare to be this small and very narrow form. Sampler itself measures just 3 1/4 inches across by 6 3/4 inches tall. Has multi colored cross stitching of the alphabet, with small motifs down below of what looks to be a bird, flowers and other things. Nice primary colors of blue, red, green, and yellow. One light color looks to be faded. It is set in a bit of a little later frame. The frame measures 7 1/8 inches across by 11 1/8 inches tall. Looks to be in great condition, and stitched on homespun linen. On the backside is handwritten Early Sampler, not a family piece. I have not taken it out of the frame so as not to disturb it. My opinion is to date it late 18th to early- mid 19th century. Super sweet and rare size.
