This product is a very rare antique Aluminia Diana pattern large 33cm plate from the 1930s in Denmark, featuring the Art Deco style. The multicoloured collector plate is round in shape and originates from Denmark, making it a unique and vintage addition to any collection. A rare and striking Kienzle table or mantel clock, designed by Heinrich Möller and produced in Germany circa 1935-36. The clock has the elegant geometric styling associated with both the Art Deco and Bauhaus movements, with a large circular brass surround, raised Arabic numerals, distinctive ring-form hour hand, long tapered minute hand, convex glass and stepped black plinth. A particularly impressive decorative clock with real presence. Approximate dimensions: Height: 25 cm Width: 23 cm MOVEMENT AND WORKING CONDITION The clock would originally have been fitted with a Kienzle eight-day mechanical movement. At some point in its life, this was replaced with a later vintage Kienzle 1.5V electromechanical movement powered by a D battery. The replacement mechanism is itself Kienzle-branded and vintage, rather than a modern quartz conversion. It has been tested with a fresh 1.5V D battery but does not continue running. When the clock is gently tilted or moved, the balance mechanism ticks for approximately three seconds before stopping. No further investigation or repair has been attempted. COSMETIC CONDITION The clock displays extremely well but naturally shows age-related patina, tarnishing, marks and wear. The number 3 appears to been glued back on at some point. Although the original movement is no longer present, the clock remains an authentic and increasingly difficult-to-find example of Heinrich Möller’s celebrated work for Kienzle. Here for sale is an absolutely stunning antique Zenith mechanical mantle clock in working order. Seems to be ticking alright and keeping okay time. Probably benefits from a service though. Quite a rare example, usually you only see the zenith travel clocks. Never seen one of these time only ones ESPECIALLY in this case. Looks like someone replaced the screws and used some sort of glue. Hopefully the glue can be scraped off and I would recommend replacing the screws as the actual clock barrel can get quite loose on its own because the screws aren’t original!
