PRIMITIVE FRENCH WASP WAIST MANNEQUIN. DIVINE FULL WIRE CAGE BUSTLE SKIRT. RARE ANCIENNE DRESS FORM. Authentic & very rare Mannequin, Complete with original wooden stand. Circa very early 1800’s. Absolute divine original character! This divine ancienne full size female torso mannequin is designed in a strong toughened compressed type structure. With the original French unbleached ecru wadding textile & silk covering. She has a very petite figure with a stunning wasp waist, as was the figure of the Victorian times. She beautifully displays her original wire cage bustle skirt. Which has a circular structure for purpose of positioning the wire cage. The base of the torso has the original solid wood where the stand attaches. The turned wooden stand is cleverly designed. It has ball structures where the circular metal structure of the cage is positioned up or down for positioning of the wire cage. Securely stands on tripod feet. This divine & rare mannequin is absolutely original & unique… Full of beautiful character! Wasp waist: 56cm (22). A TRUE, RARE & UNIQUE PRIMITIVE FRENCH MANNEQUIN. She is absolutely full of original character with her tears, knocks & bumps over hundreds of years. Of delightful display & use. Her wire cage bustle skirt is in a wonderful solid condition with its perfect adjustable circular structure. The original wooden stand is in a good solid condition.. There is a split to the lower wood which has the addition of two strong straps to further prevent splitting… Please see picture 11. These straps were added many years ago & are unseen.
