From a private collection, this doll is all original. Stamped “J” on head (see picture). Spiral spring neck attachment and pressed bisque socket head. Blue stamped body: “Jumeau Medaille D’or Paris” (see picture). 8 Ball jointed composition & wood straight wrist body. N very good condition, some signs of wear, slight flaking on one of the thumbs (see pic). Stunning face, blush complexion, beautiful deep blue eyes, pierced ears, closed mouth, blond long curly wig. Blue silk Taffeta dress with grosgrain ribbon & bow on back waist. Pin at neck and 3 buttons down front of bodice. Fixed under-petticoat sewn to dress + 2 cotton petticoats and vest and long bloomers with lace around the bottom. Lace slightly coming away on one leg (see picture). Slight wear / fading on the dress. Hat: same fabric as dress with grosgrain ribbon and brooch at front, and bow on the back. Knitted white cotton socks. Shoes: Original stamped E. Brown leather with rosette on front. Slight wear on back of one shoe. After purchasing, this doll will be professionally packed, tracked and insured. THE COMPANY WAS FOUNDED IN 1807 AND CARRIED ON UNTIL 1922, ALTHOUGH POSSIBLY UNMARKED (THERE MAY BE STAMPS ON INDIVIDUAL BRASS ELEMENTS) I GUARANTEE THEY ARE OSLER PIECES AND DATE FROM THE LATE NINETEENTH CENTURY. Extremely RARE and Unusual Early American Electric Bear c1908

Extremely Rare & Unusual Early American Electric Bear. Electric Growler Battery Operated. Wood Wool And Cork Chips Stuffed. This is a very unusual bear that I cannot find in any books; the nearest I can find is electric eyed bears made by a few early American bear manufacturers like Fast Black Skirt Company (New York City) among others. This was maybe a prototype that didn’t catch on as it would have made a buzzing sound rather than a growl. The bear was untouched when he came to me but I was intrigued by the Bakelite button under his left arm and so had to open his rear seam to investigate. What I discovered was a Bakelite buzzer mechanism operated by a very old form battery and a bear stuffed with a mixture of wood wool and cork chips. This along with the remains of a cloth nose lead me to think that he is very early. Also he has boot button eyes that appear to be original and not replacements for electric eyes. He has jointed limbs but a fixed head and is very solidly stuffed. He has pads of a felt / brushed cotton material that appear to me to be original and in good condition. He retains at least 70% of his mohair and has three claws on each limb. He wears his red knitted top that he came with which gives him a Pooh bear look. Our Very Rare antique steiff teddy Petsy bear is absolutely gorgeous! She is GERMAN MOHAIR BLUE-EYED “PETSY” BEAR BY STEIFF. Blond mohair distinctively-modeled bear was designed as a baby cub bear, having center seam with elongated nose, stitched light brown nose tip, grand-sized with very rare beautiful blue glass eyes, elongated arms with shoulder disc jointing, hip disc jointing felt paw pads with no holes With original Steiff underscore button in ear. Some thinning of mohair around muzzle and Body in general and sadly the growler inside doesnt work! German Steiff, marketed as Petsy and with unique facial modeling and grand eyes was introduced in 1928, and is very rare. We are looking for a lovely home for Petsy and we hope youd love her as much as we have done! The white and blue collar is not original and can be taken off, but it really suits her.
